Hey, to anyone who knows me from Tumblr, you already know what this is. To those of you who don't, it's the official fic for my Hello Puppets! & Hello Puppets: Midnight Show AU, 'The Show Must Go On'!. This first page is going to be introducing you to the characters of this universe, who will be featuring in the fic. As for the plot, I'm sort of taking it as I go along. Also, shoutout to a friend on Tumblr who helps me with ideas for this AU. A few more things I have to say are that whenever I refer to 'the script', sometimes 'Owen's script', I am referring to the in-universe show, Mortimers' Handeemen, and that I didn't include information for the puppet cast OCs post-ritual because it would have been too spoiler-y. And now, on to the 'cast list'!
The plot of this fic picks up with Ashley Anderson escaping the Handeemen studio - As the story of the first game is still canon, so there isn't much need to write it all out, I will include important scenes from my version of that game in flashback.
FEATURED ORIGINAL CHARACTERS
(HUMANS)
Ashley Anderson - The main protagonist of our story, and a reporter for a college newspaper, Ashley Anderson has a penchant for the weird and wonderful, aswell as the just straight-up weird. After receiving a call from the editor of the aforementioned newspaper, she breaks into the abandoned soundstage that used to be home to the childrens' show Mortimers' Handeemen, a course of events which she did not yet know would change her life forever.
Olivia Gubberson - The tertiary antagonist of our story, turned secondary protagonist. Olivia Gubberson has a personal grudge against the puppets thanks to being the twin sister (older by 12 minutes) of Owen Gubberson, the creator of Mortimers' Handeemen. As the story moves on, she learns to let go of her past and that vengeance isn't always the best way to resolve her problems. However, that doesn't mean she has to like the plan she ends up being roped into by our clueless hero.
Skye Taylor - the supervisor of the college newspaper Ashley works for, Skye is a journalism teacher whose past involvement in the tangled web of Mortimers' Handeemen comes back to haunt her - when her editor gives her most chaotic reporter a call that involves breaking into the abandoned soundstage where the show used to be recorded...
Constance "Connie" Robinson - the editor of the college newspaper supervised by Skye, which Ashley works for, Constance, more commonly referred to as Connie, is the one who called Ashley to investigate the Handeemen studio in order to find a story to report for their Halloween edition - completely oblivious to the chain of events that it would jumpstart into motion.
(PUPPETS)
Bella The Ballerina - Like her name suggests, Bella is a ballerina - though she is, right from the start, different to all of the other puppets, as Owen decided to design her as a marionette - easier to have her 'perform' that way, using her strings to make her dance - She was supposed to be the mediator between Nick Nack and Riley Ruckus, and she shares a room with Nick, mostly staying at her own side of the room behind a purple stage curtain.
Nancy Nack - the aunt of Nick Nack, she is rather wealthy and provides the financial backing for Nick's shows in the script, and usually physically appearing during the holidays or specials specifically centred around her nephew. She can be rather snobbish, but is friendly towards just about everyone (well, if they're a puppet at least.) aside from Mortimer - who she seems to have a personal grudge against.
Diane Danger - The cousin of Daisy Danger, Diane does not have a danger mode, but makes up for it in other ways, such as her love of chaos. In Owen's script, she usually physically appeared during holidays or specials specifically centred around her cousin. She is much more foul-mouthed and tomboy-ish than her cousin, often keeping her at the edge of her limit - though it's all in good fun- After all, what's life without a little chaos?
