"God... what have I done..?"

Mr. Puzzles whimpered, crumpled on the cold dark ground of the alleyway he crashed into. The last 30 minutes spinning in his head dizzily. Meggy... the others... he blew it. She said it herself: one chance. One. And he somehow fucked that up too.

Sorrow and helplessness hit him so hard he felt like he couldn't breathe. His chest was tight, tears flowing down his electronic face. He choked on a sob, curling into himself as he leaned back against the fence. He ruined everything. Maybe he really was... just a monster.

He exhaled shakily, wiping his eyes as if that would somehow wipe away the digital tears. It wasn't like he *really* didn't care about Mr. WPNZ and that silly blob. In all honesty... spending time with them was the most alive he felt in a long time.

"He... said that too." Mr. Puzzles mumbled to nobody, staring endlessly at the souvenir his associate gave him. No... his teammate.

...no. His friend.

At least... they used to be friends.

Mr. Puzzles stared at the bullet between his fingers— shiny, metal, warm. It may as well have been made of gold with the way he was holding it to his chest. He remembered the way WPNZ casually tossed it to him, muttering sarcastically about the memories they were making. The way Toomp was grinning at him from the backseat, the way he was looking at him...

Now it was gone.

Thrown away.

His fingers started to tremble around the bullet as rain began to fall, soft at first, put slowly starting to pummel. As if a visual representation of the guilt in his heart. He didn't move. Why bother? It's not like anyone wants him around anyway. Every drop was like an echo in his mind

"One chance."

"Is this all just some game to you?"

"SMG4 was right. You're never going to change."

A broken sob glitched through his mouth again, distorted through static as his guilt weighed him down, like pulling him underwater. He wasn't actually trying to be better. No, he just wanted praise. He just wanted Meggy and the others to admire him. See him as the hero for once. Willing to hurt his new friends to get back his "old" ones.

It's weird how only now, he was starting to realize how cruel that was.

Mr WPNZ never treated him like that. Nor did Toomp.

"I didn't mean to mess this up." He hissed through his teeth, his pain obvious in the cracks in his voice. "I just... didn't know how to be better."

Silence filled the alley. The rain pounding against the pavement doing little to drown out his thoughts. Mr. Puzzles face darkened as he clenched his fists.

"No." He sat up suddenly with a jerk, shaking his head.  His circuits were burning up from the overwhelming amount of emotions he was processing, but he didn't care. "I'm not letting this be the last page."

Sure, he may still hate SMG4 and his stupid crew. But there was no one in the universe he hated more right now than himself. And he was determined to make it better. Even if he has to hurt himself in the process.

Err... maybe not. He was still him, after all. Much too brilliant for damage to his circuits.

He stood shakily, legs stiff from the cold and the weight of sorrow. His hat fell off with the motion, but he was too absorbed in his own thoughts to notice. He stared down the alleyway, eyes fixed on the streetlights glowing in the distance. He wasn't entirely sure where he landed, but he'll figure it out.

"I'm going to fix this" he whispered to himself, glancing at his last memory of his new friend before stuffing it in his pocket, sighing.

"If it's the last thing I do."
