Alice Knight was never asked to be a problem child nor did she ask to be the chosen one, Yet fate has a funny way of rewriting things. Seventeen-year-old Alice, was supposed to disappear-another forgotten orphan from a disgraced noble line but when she bonds with Nora, a rare and forbidden Asterian Dark Dragon, her quiet life vanishes in a blaze of magic and fear. At Avalon Academy, where only the strongest rise to become Dragon Paladins (Guardians and protectors of Dragons themselves), power is everything and Alice is a threat to the entire system. No one has ever formed a bond like hers. Not in centuries. Not ever. To the nobles, she's a mistake that needs to be erased. To the Paladins, she's a rival who doesn't belong. But something ancient is stirring. Dragons are dying. Magic is shifting and Alice stands at the center of it all. With enemies around every corner and the weight of a legacy she never asked for, Alice must decide who she's willing to become in a kingdom that already decided who she should be.
