Tae has been buried deep into his computer screen for the past 6 hours straight. Being in charge of all major bug-fixing at his company, left him no room for relaxation.

And since lately he's moved most of his work hours to a remote setting, his room was a mess.

Scattered coffee cups and empty food containers on the floor. Dirty laundry leisurely thrown over miscellaneous chairs, the sofa and his bed- it was most definitely not a clean work environment, nor a healthy living space.

His eyes were glued to the endless lines of code swirling around in his coding program- the extended screen time making him feel dizzy and disoriented.

But he needed to fix this game breaking bug as soon as possible.

Their newly released game has just hit the market and was immediately struck with some immense errors they hadn't anticipated.

Work was piling up and every major responsibility fell on his shoulders. It was exhausting, but he had, unfortunately, willingly chosen this career.

Thankfully he shared the apartment with his best friend, and greatest annoyance- Captain. He always brought some sort of order to his otherwise cluttered life.

Captain was a baker. He owned a tiny coffee bakery across town. He's been babbling about his passion for baking ever since Tae could remember.

They've been inseparable since they first met in high school. Tae took a while to warm up to him though. The boy just couldn't stop talking and at first, Tae found it incredibly annoying, but with time, he grew to accept all of Captain's quirks and little nuances that made him, well him.

Captain had been the one to approach him- his overwhelming bright energy and constant chattering had him wanting to gouge out his ears sometimes.

Though deep down, in the parts of his soul he'd never admit existed, he absolutely treasured the man and his constant unwavering presence.

Tae liked his peace and quiet. Uninterrupted late evenings lazying around, doing absolutely nothing but enjoying the serenity of a tranquil environment after a day of hard work.

Captain always came in like a wrecking ball to destroy such moments. Sometimes it irked him. Most times he would let him ramble on in the kind of endearing way that made your chest ache and swell with warmth.

It was puzzling, even to him, how he would occasionally find his thoughts wandering elsewhere- creating strange visions he absolutely shoved deep, DEEP down where no one would ever find it.

Like god forbid he found him adorable- he probably was running a fever, that would be the only explanation.

Today has been an especially stressful day for Tae- juggling so many things at once left him drained and in an irritable mood. He didn't even hear Captain coming home and walking into his room with his infectious energy as always.

But today was what seemed to be, Tae's breaking point. He needed some peace and quiet- to collect his thoughts and relax for once.

The man started recalling every single interaction he's had at the cafe from the day- every customer complaint, all the weirdos that hit on his employees, his newly discovered recipes that still needed testing before they were put on the menu.

"Can you believe it Tae? She really just came up to Jay and blatantly demanded his number. She didn't even order anything! The line was so long and she wouldn't leave until she got it. I was one second away from calling the police on this mad woman."
