After we left the club, we went straight to the hotel. Loona and Onyx both got their own rooms to crash in somewhere on one of the floors while I stayed with Alastor in his room.
"Who was that guy last night?" I ask as Al and I take a seat at the table on the balcony, both of us with a hot coffee mug in hand.
"That was Valentino," he explains as he sets his coffee down on the table and opens up today's newspaper.
The name sounds familiar, but I can't quite figure out from where. I stare off at the city as the gears turn in my head.
"One of the Vees," Al clarifies, scrunching up his nose at the mere mention of the Vee crew.
"Oh! Angel's boss?" I ask. "What's his problem?"
"It's not his problem at all, actually," he explains. "I imagine Vox has enlisted him to aid in his mission of getting to me. It seems he's caught wind of you, (Y/N)."
"What did he want? To kidnap me or something?" I ask.
"Likely so," Al confirms. "I'm sure he'd love to have that kind of leverage over me. Which is why you'll have to be more careful from now on, when you're out and about."
I sigh, disappointed but not surprised.
"I know, it's a bummer. I really do. But that only applies here in the Pride ring," he reassures me. "I'll just have to tag along when you and the girls go on your little adventures."
"You don't think the Vees can leave Pride the same way you can?" I wonder.
"Sweetheart, they'd never get the privilege. The Goetia are very open about their distaste for the Vees," he explains. "So, when you go back home, you won't have to worry about them. Here, though, I'll just have to be with you at all times."
The news is frustrating, obviously, but I'm sure Al isn't happy about it either.
"I'm sorry," I apologize.
"Oh, my dear, you owe no apologies to anyone. None of this is your fault," he reassures me. "Besides, it's no trouble for me."
My phone dings in my pocket and I take it out to check. Onyx texted me, so I open the message.
< Hey we're awake and hungry
I laugh out loud at the message and Al gives me a funny look.
"They're awake," I explain to him.
He nods in response before going back to reading his newspaper. I stand and head back inside to go find them in whatever room they decided to crash in.

Five days later is the follow-up trial. Just like last time, Charlie, Lucifer and I all step through the portal to Heaven and walk up to the golden gates.
The Seraphim are already waiting there for us.
"Charlie!" Emily exclaims as she runs up to her and wraps her in a hug.
"Em, it's good to see you!" Charlie replies.
Lucifer and Sera exchange a nod, their expressions and demeanors much more serious than Em's and Charlie's.
The gates open and the five of us walk into the city.
We still have some time before the trial, so Charlie, Emily and I linger outside the building to talk.
"Em, what's gonna happen if they decide to punish him?" Charlie asks, visibly distressed. "Are they just gonna throw him in jail?"
Em sighs, staring off into the distance as she contemplates her answer. "I don't really know, Charlie. This is such a... unique case. I mean, we never really have to punish anyone here. I don't know what they would do with him."
