The soft hum of city life murmured in the background. Streetlights glowed like stardust scattered along the sidewalks, casting long shadows and soft light onto the outdoor seating of a quiet café.

Naruto tugged the brim of his black Konoha cap as he leaned over the table, a playful smirk dancing on his lips. He wore an orange hoodie—bright, warm, unmistakably him. Across from him, Hinata sat with her hands wrapped around a warm cup, her lavender eyes shimmering in the light. She laughed—openly, brightly—the kind of laugh that made time slow down.

He hadn’t seen her laugh like that in years.

“What's so funny?” he asked, cocking his head with that lopsided grin that never failed to make her stomach flutter.

“You,” she said through her giggles. “You still stir your drink like it’s ramen broth.”

Naruto blinked, then looked down at the untouched cup of cocoa in front of him, spoon still in hand. He grinned sheepishly. “Force of habit. Old instincts never die, ya know.”

She smiled wider, her cheeks glowing. Her hair was down tonight, flowing past her shoulders like a waterfall of ink. She looked peaceful here—untouched by the rush of the world, wrapped in twilight and moonlight.

It was the first time in a while they’d made time for just each other.

“I’m glad you called,” she said softly, her voice almost lost in the sound of a passing bus. “I missed this.”

Naruto leaned back, his smile faltering just enough to show a flash of honesty. “Yeah… me too. Life’s been... nonstop lately.”

“Being Hokage in training?” she teased.

“More like… trying to figure out who I am when I’m not saving the world.”

There was silence for a second. Comfortable. Real.

Hinata reached across the table, her fingers brushing his. “You’re still you, Naruto. Whether you're wearing a cloak or a hoodie.”

That one line hit deeper than anything he'd heard in months. Not a speech, not a mission report, not even a crowd cheering. Just her, reminding him that who he was mattered more than what he did.

He looked up, meeting her gaze. “You always know what to say.”

“I only say the truth,” she whispered, her voice barely above the wind.

They sat there for a while longer, letting the world slow down around them. No expectations. No past battles or future plans. Just this moment—sweet, still, and a little electric.

Before they left, Naruto took a quick glance at her again. She was smiling at the stars now, and it hit him like a punch to the heart.

He wasn’t sure when exactly it happened.

But tonight… he was falling in love all over again.
