Wren: *narrating* This is the story of how I died. Don't worry, this is actually a very fun story. And the truth is, it isn't even mine. This is the story of a girl, Melody. And it starts, with the sun.

*Scene changes to a sky as a small drop falls to the earth*

Wren: Now, once upon a time, a single drop of sunlight fell from the heavens. And from this small drop of sun, grew a magic, golden, flower. It had the ability to heal the sick, and injured. *An old woman walks to the golden flower* Oh, you see that old woman, over there? You might want to remember her. She's kind of important. Well, centuries passed and a hop skip and a boat ride away there grew a kingdom. *A kingdom was slowly built up as the years go by* The kingdom was ruled by two beloved kings, Fizzarolli and Asmodeus. And Asmodeous, well he was about to have a baby, and he got sick, really, sick. *Asmodeous was seen lying on a bed with a baby bump as Fizzarolli sits by his side in worry while two guards stand back* She was running out of time. And that's when people usually start to look for a miracle. *The Castle guard start to look out at night looking for the miracle* Or in this case, a magic golden flower. *Maleficent enters the scene.* Ahhh, I told you she'd be important. You see instead of sharing the Sun's gift, this woman, Maleficent, hoarded its healing power and used it to keep herself young for hundreds of years. And all she had to do was sing a special song. *Maleficent had covered the golden flower in a fake bush to make sure no one else finds it*

Maleficent: *singing* ♪Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine. Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine, what once was mine.♪

Wren: *He narrates* All right, you get the gist. She sings, she turns young. Creepy, right?

Guards: We found it!

Wren: *he narrates* The magic of the golden flower, healed Asmodeous. A healthy baby girl, a princess was born. With beautiful golden hair with blue streaks. *Asmodeous picks up the small baby girl and smiles as the baby squeals a bit as they nuzzles foreheads, and Fizzarolli places a tiara on top of the baby's head* I'll give you a hint. That's Melody. To celebrate her birth, the Fizzarolli and Asmodeous launched a flying lantern into the sky. *Asmodeous and Fizzarolli lift a lantern up into the sky as Melody reaches for it* For that one moment, everything was perfect. And then that moment ended.

*Maleficent, aged again, sneaks into the nursery. Melody is asleep in her crib. Maleficent lifts a strand of Melody's hair and draws a pair of scissors from her cloak*

Maleficent: *singing* ♪Flower, gleam and glow, let your powers shine, make the clock re----♪ *shocked gasp*

*She cuts the strand. It turns brown and falls upon the mattress, powerless. Fizzarolli and Asmodeous wake up to the sounds of their baby daughter crying and sit up to see Maleficent holding the baby*

Wren: *narrates* Maleficent broke into the castle and stole the child. Just like that... gone. The Kingdom searched and searched, but they could not find the Princess. For deep within the forest, in a hidden tower, Maleficent raised the child as her own.

*Cut scene to the hidden tower. Maleficent is brushing Melody's hair*

Melody: *singing* ♪...save what was lost, bring back what once was mine, what once was mine.♪

Wren: narrates* Gothel had found her new magic flower. But this time she was determined to keep it hidden.

Melody: Why can't I go outside?

Maleficent: The outside world is a dangerous place. Filled with horrible, selfish people. You must stay here, where you're safe. Do you understand, flower?

Melody: Yes, Mommy.

*Soon it turns night and Melody quietly walks past Maleficent's room and to the window and opens the window to see all the lanterns in the sky*

Wren: *narrates* But the walls of that tower could not hide everything. Each year on her birthday, the Kings released thousands of lanterns into the sky in hope that one day, their lost Princess would return.
