The racetrack lit up under the dusky sky, roaring engines drowning out every coherent thought.

Javier Alcantara stood beside his matte black car, arms folded, sunglasses low on the bridge of his nose. His best friend Dave leaned against the hood, sipping an energy drink.

"You sure you wanna keep racing like a college frat boy?" Dave asked.

"You're still watching like a proud mother," Javier replied dryly.

They revved. The race started. Tires screamed.

As always—Javier won.

Girls squealed by the finish line, trying to get close, but his cold glare was lethal.

"Back off," he barked, pushing past them like they were air.

---

Later: Movie & Café

After the race, they hit the cinema. Javier wore black-on-black. The movie? Forgotten.

They headed down to the café on the first floor of Javier’s apartment for dinner. The group laughed, joked, and devoured their plates—until River entered the café, just in time to pick up his takeout order.

"Yo, River!" Dave waved.

River blinked. "Uh, hi—sir. Boss. Sir."

"Come sit. One minute won’t kill her."

River sat awkwardly.

Dave grinned. "We were just talking about your professor here. Coldest man to walk the earth."

Liam added, "Until cupid sniped him like a sniper to the chest."

"Bullshit," Javier muttered.

"We’re serious!" Dave laughed. "I haven't seen him like this since... never."

River didn’t know where to look. He just grinned like a hostage.

Then Liam leaned in. "So, about this girl. What’s her name again? Calla? She sounds cute. You have her number or socials?"

"No—" Javier snapped, but Dave raised a finger.

"River, give it. I'm your boss. Remember that performance review coming up?"

"Sir, yes sir," River groaned, giving Liam the info while Javier silently combusted.

They all burst out laughing.

---

The Call

Thirty minutes passed. River still hadn't picked up his food.

His phone rang.

CALLA.

Liam grinned. "Put it on speaker."

River hesitated.

"Now."

He tapped speaker.

"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU, RIVER?" Calla screamed. "I’m nearly dead of hunger! You’re so MEAN to me!"

Javier blinked.

River stuttered. "W-Well I ran into my old college mates—"

Dave mouthed: Say that.

"I—uh—just got caught up."

"I’m hungry…" she whimpered like a spoiled child.

The boys went silent.

Then Javier, expression unreadable, said, "See? If she faints, it's all your fault. You're all accountable for neglect."

Silence.

Then Calla’s voice: "Wait. Was that… Severus Snape?"

The table erupted.

Dave pounded the table. Liam choked on his drink. Javier’s face turned crimson.

River said, grinning, "No, Calla. That was Mr. Javier."

"RIVER. I’M GOING TO KILL YOU. I SWEAR! SPEAKER?!"

More roaring laughter.

"Enough," Javier finally said, flustered. "River. Go. Now. Or take her to the hospital for starvation. Understood?"

"Yes, sir!" River bolted from the table with the takeout bag.

The table? Still laughing.

At Calla’s Apartment

River knocked quickly, and Calla opened the door glaring.

"You’re DEAD to me."

"Let me explain—"

SMACK. Her hand hit the back of his head.

"That’s for putting me on speaker!"

"Calla, I didn’t mean to— They pressured me— You know, bosses—"

She folded her arms and pouted.

"Whatever. Just give me the food."

She snatched it from his hands and marched to the kitchen.

River exhaled.

His phone buzzed.

Dave: What’s her apartment number? Bringing her ice cream to apologize.

River hesitated.

Then heard Javier’s voice in the background, clearly snapping something.

But Dave added: “River. Obey. Or I write a 2-star review on your quarterly.”

He sighed and replied with the number.

River: Fine. But she doesn’t know all four of you are coming.

---

Ten minutes later, the doorbell rang.

Calla opened it—wearing her bunny pajamas.

She froze.

Dave, Liam, Leo, and Javier. Standing there. With ice cream.

"Surprise!" Dave sang.

Calla blinked. "Y-you all came?"

"To apologize. Properly," Dave said.

Javier looked… tense. Uncomfortable. Red ears.

They entered, and she moved aside awkwardly.

"Nice place," Dave said. "River, we should gather here for office game nights. It’s spacious."

"No," Javier snapped instantly. "She needs to study."

The boys laughed.

Liam leaned toward Calla. "Hey… if you're ever looking for a roommate, I’d apply."

"Liam," Javier growled.

"Kidding. Kidding."

River watched silently, a grin spreading on his face.

Severus Snape had fallen into chaos—and it was hilarious.
