Scarlett gracefully walks past everyone. She begins to tear up while waving to her friends and family. Her lovely bouquet of pink and red roses looks really beautiful in the slightly dimmed room.

I look at Jason to see his reaction, but to my surprise he isn't looking at Scarlett like he's supposed to.

He's looking at me.

I give him a confused look, and gestured for him to look at his bride. He smirks and shakes his head.

Scarlett is finally beside Jason when the song ended. There is silence now. Just when the marriage officiant starts to speak, Jason held his hand as if to stop halt his oration.

The silence is so loud now that you can even hear some nervous breathings. I, too, am holding my breathe for what is currently happening.

Jason looks at Scarlett and in instant, starts begging for forgiveness.

"Honey, what's wrong?" she asked.

"Scar, I.."

Everyone is frozen in their places. Even Jason and Scarlett's parents did not intervene and just watched, confused as everyone else.

"Jason, what is it?"

Jason takes a huge breathe in and looks at Scarlett in the eye. "I'm sorry, but I can't marry you."

I hear a few gaps but I am looking intently at Scarlett. Her expression seems a bit odd. She doesn't seem surprised or angry. She is just looking at Jason, as if waiting for him to continue speaking.

"The years that we had together were great. You were my first love, and everyone knew that. But none of them knew who my greatest love is."

With the spotlight shining directly at them, I can see that tears are now streaking down Scarlett's face. I didn't even realize it sooner, but my eyes are starting to redden as well.

What is happening?

Jason's greatest love?

There's another woman?

I hold my breathe as I wait for Jason to speak again.

"Scar, I will always be thankful for you. But I can't lie to myself anymore. I hope that when the time comes, you will find it in your heart to forgive me for what I'm about to do tonight."

Scarlett just nodded and just like that, she breaks down. She starts sobbing and wiping her tears while her friends rushed to her side.

My breathe quickens from all of these, but I am about to hyperventilate when Jason started walking to me.
