I opened my mouth, and I wish that I could swallow enough air to lift me up like a hot air balloon be carried away by the wind.
Away from this town.
Away from this goddamn wedding.
As I reach the lake, I look up above. The stars and the moon was gone, clouds covered its light. It suddenly became dark.
Afraid that it might rain, I decide to walk back to my car and just drive all the way to the wedding.
At the wedding venue, I see a lot of familiar faces. I am busy looking around when I see a glimpse of Scarlett in a window. She is smiling and exchanging quick hugs with her friends. She looks like a goddess in her white wedding dress. She looks so happy and excited, and I feel a bit of jealousy because wow.
I can really see what Jason sees in her. Not just because she's very beautiful, but because she's also a great person.
There's that weird tingling feeling in my chest again, so I head outside for some fresh air.
I walked until I reached a place where it seems to be a garden. Beautiful flowers were planted everywhere. There are hydrangeas, azaleas, geraniums, and foxgloves. Mesmerized by its beauty, I walk some more to find a bench but stopped when I spot Jason sitting on one.
He is silently sitting on the bench, and it seems like he is deep in his thoughts. I watch him as he is shaking his head and then looks up above.
Up above where the stars lay, and the moon's resting.
I, too, looks up above and see the same stars. I don't know what Jason is thinking about right now but from the look on his face, I know that it's not good.
Maybe it's just the nerves. Maybe I'm just overthinking things and he's actually feeling really excited.
I shake off all the what if's in my mind, glance at him for one last time, and I head back inside.
The ceremony started twenty minutes later. Guests are now seated in their respective seats, Jason is now standing at the altar, and everyone's waiting for Scarlett's entrance.
"Runaway" by The Corrs started playing as the wedding's background music.
