Turning into something beautiful

You know you know I love you so

The feel of Samuel’s hand around her wrist kept her grounded, kept her from flying away. It wasn’t a secret that Samuel was one of the few people who kept her sane, nor was it a secret that Samuel was also one of the few people who kept her insane. Samuel was a paradox, an oxymoron, and everything in between.

Samuel was everything Reini was not.

Reini looked up as she felt Samuel’s thumb lovingly caress her wrist, and was taken by surprise when Samuel suddenly pulled her towards him through his steady grip around her wrist. His hand was suddenly on Reini’s lower back, and Reini found herself kissing the life out of Samuel.

You know I love you so

The kiss was exquisite, like every single flavor she had ever loved rolled into one. In the back of her head, she knew she shouldn’t do this, knew that it was a mistake, but she also knew that it was a mistake she had to make. As he took her bottom lip in his lips, Reini moaned. His scent was all around her, inside her, everywhere. It was an intoxicating scent, and Reini found that she couldn’t have enough.

I swam across

I jumped across for you

It made her guilty, the fact that she had kissed Andrew first before she had kissed Samuel, but she knew there was nothing to be done. It was something she regretted, but there was nothing she could do. So instead, she allowed her hands to wander towards either side of Samuel’s face and kissed him with all she had.

Oh what a thing to do

Samuel didn’t want to part from Reini, but the burning feeling of not having enough air alerted him to what he was doing. After one last kiss, he breathed deeply and put his forehead against Reini’s. It felt intimate, the fact that they were breathing each other in, branding each other with their scent.

“Is this what you want?” asked Samuel, his eyes closed as he didn’t want to see the pitying emotions in Reini’s eyes.

Cause you were all yellow

“I want this,” Reini whispered. “Do you want this, too?”

“You know I want this,” said Samuel. “God, I’ve wanted this so much for so long, I can’t even remember when I first felt this way.”

Reini closed her eyes as she breathed out slowly, small puffs of air warming Samuel’s face. “I remember when I first saw you. You were this man I hardly knew, drinking scotch by the bar, and yet there was something. There was something between us that I can’t explain, and even though I wasn’t in love with you yet, I just felt a connection, like you’ve been for me from the very start until our very end.”

I drew a line

I drew a line for you

“I’m sorry,” Samuel breathed out, his eyes closed. “I’m sorry for everything.”

Reini knew what Samuel was apologizing for. She knew that somewhere deep inside him, he was still guilty that it took him so long to return her affections, but she knew that there was nothing for him to apologize for. He did nothing wrong.

A tear started to trickle down Samuel’s left cheek, and Reini opened her eyes to the quiet sound of Samuel’s half-sob.

“I am so sorry,” Samuel breathed out, his breath warm against her face.

“You have nothing to be sorry for,” Reini said, kissing the tear away.
