"What the fuck are you?!" Jiyu took a step back, making the man's red eyes roll as he scoffed.
"The only thing humans get right about vampires is that we have red eyes, and you can't even figure that out."

"I'm in love with him!" Jiyu said the moment Jisung answered her FaceTime, her hair still damp after the cold shower she took the moment she got to her room.
Jisung blinked as he stopped chewing his pizza, still wearing the shirt he wore for the wedding.
"W… who?"
"Hyunjin…" she breathed as she plopped onto the bed, her face stressed.
Jiyu didn’t know exactly when she fell in love with Hyunjin.
Maybe it was when he saved her for the first time.
Maybe it was when he gave her the first warm meal she’d had in forever.
Maybe it was when he made her consider his home hers.
Maybe it was when she fell asleep on his lap after crying as he told her about his nature.
Maybe it was when they hugged for the first time after he bought her her favorite shoes.
Maybe it was when he held her while she cried her heart out over her dad.
Maybe it was when he took her to that roof and made her feel like she was flying.
Or maybe she fell in love with him a little bit more during every one of those moments—or more clearly, during every breath she took next to him.
She tried to escape it, she tried to persuade her heart that this was wrong, that he was just someone precious.
But she was far gone. Especially when every other man seemed like nothing to her.
She wanted only Hyunjin.
And she hated it—because she knew all of this was temporary, and they would have to part ways someday.
She was human. He was a vampire—an immortal one.
"Oh, so you’re in love with the man who treats you like a freaking princess? OH EM GEE, what a surprise!— wait..Jiyu… you’re crying?"
Jiyu snapped out of her trance when she realized the tears on her cheeks. She blinked and quickly wiped them.
