Chapt 3 Finding Corey

"get away from me David" I replied as I Tried to passed him. I held my breath and twisted my body weirdly as I made an attempt to get past him.

David put his arm out, and grabbed my arm, forcing me towards him. His large green eyes met Mine as he walked me around the corner. I struggled to escape but his grasp was too tight and I was too weak. "David let go of me!" I demanded.

He didn't say anything in reply. He just kept leading me until we reached courtyard. He sat me down on one of the cement benches a little too hard, and this bench was not just any bench. It was the bench that happened to be where we had our first kiss. I rolled my eyes as he took a seat close beside me.

"Seriously David"? I asked gesturing towards the bench, "What are you doing?"

"Too cheesy"? David asked smiling.

"Oh shush up" I said as I looked away trying my hardest to not make eye contact with him. I could feel the hatred rising up inside of me but I made an attempt to keep it hidden.

"Babe, you can be real with me. You don't have to use words like shush. You can just say the real thing, "shut up"" he laughed. "I wouldn't be offended.

"Oh, because I'm so concerned as to how I make you feel..." I started. "I'm pretty sure that you made me feel a lot worse than I could ever make you feel" I could feel tears forming in my eyes and I asked myself why I was crying. I thought I was mostly over him...

I felt David's eyes burning into my back as I stared at the school. "Why did you bring me here"? I asked him, my voice cracking a bit.

"We need to talk Zoe" his voice replied calm and seriously.

"I'm pretty sure that we finished talking when you shoved your tongue into Rachael's mouth" I said raising my eyebrows, turning to look back at him.

"Babe, that was a mistake. You have to admit, what we had was pretty great" David said as he flashed me a cocky smile.

"Yeah, our relationship was pretty great" I said emphasizing on the word "was"

"Babe don't be like that"

"Stop calling me babe" I replied as I stood up and started to walk back towards the school.

"Zoe" David called after me. Just when I thought that I was done talking to him I felt his hand grab mine and pull me towards him. I tripped from the force and fell into him. Quickly I caught my balance and tried to back away. I felt a blush spread across my cheeks and I silently scolded myself.

"David please! Let me go!" I demanded.

David's grip slowly loosened as he stared at me, directly in the eyes. He looked defeated. I could see his jaw tightening from being anxious. He ruffled his sandy blond hair which caused it to flop over his forehead.

"Zo, please have one cup
Of coffee with me tomorrow " David asked, his eyes pleading.

"What?" I snorted, "David, I will definitely not have coffee with you"

"Hear me out Zoe! If I take you out one one date and I can't convince you that I have changed I'll leave you alone for good" David said firmly.

"David I don't kno-"

"I'll stop playing basket ball near where you eat too! I see the way you stare at me. You look like your going to spontaneously combust or something"! David laughed.

Something about the way David looked at me wouldn't let me say no. Also, I found his offer pretty tempting. Lunch would be a lot more enjoyable for me if he wasn't there. I stood there for a few seconds before I slowly nodded my head.

"Yeah"? David asked.

"Yeah" I replied shrugging.

"This is great Zo"! David said as he put his arm around me and pulled me into his body, "I love how you can change your mind so easy...literally just a second ago you said that you'd never go out with m-"

"David!" I interjected, "if you want to still go out you might want to stop talking. You're right, I do change my mind easily which means that I could change my mind about us hanging out if you don't stop talking. Also, this is not a date. We're just hanging out. Got it?" I said as I pushed David's arm away.

"Sorry" He chuckled, "and fine...it's not a date...but it is for me" he said cheekily as we walked into the school. I shook my head in disgust "whatever"

"Has anyone ever told you that you're cute when your mad?"

I couldn't help but laugh, "oh my god, the journey begins..."

As I walked into the large building with David, my mind raced. What that hell had I gotten myself into?
