As time passed...
The three sparklings that Alpha Trion had adopted gradually began to adapt well to their new home.
Starting with the youngest, Blacklazer—he had once been a servant-type slave, which gave him an uncanny skill in reading others' emotions. He always seemed to know immediately when someone was feeling down and would rush in to comfort them—especially when his brothers were going through tough times.
There was one time when the middle sibling, Toxitron, felt upset after accidentally melting an energon treat in his hands. Blacklazer quickly rushed over to console him and handed over his own energon cube without a second thought. Though he had started to settle in, he didn't seem to fully trust me yet. He would often frown when he saw me interacting with his brothers. But I understood—trust takes time.
As for Toxitron, the middle one, he had been a labor-type slave. As a result, he was larger than his brothers. But his personality contrasted greatly with his size. He was an innocent and kind-hearted child.
He also had a special ability—his body could produce acid. As incredible as this power was, it came with a cost...
The acid that leaked from his body could corrode his own frame, leaving scars all over him. No matter how much it hurt, he always smiled... Such a pitiful and lovable child.
And finally, the eldest, Orion Pax—he had been an entertainment-type mech, which made him incredibly skilled at lifting others' spirits. After moving into the mansion, he became endlessly curious about everything around him.
He was always pointing at things and asking, "What's that?" or "What does this do?"
He wasn't just curious—he was also astonishingly intelligent, learning at an impressive rate. He often slipped into the mansion's library to read, and it wasn't long before he had finished over half the books in the entire room. His favorites were astronomy books.
He once told me that he wanted to fly... so he could reach out and touch the stars.
Ding-a-ling...
The doorbell above the bookstore chimed as it swung open. Orion stepped out of the shop beaming, with Alpha Trion following behind him.
"Thank you, Master Alpha Trion, for getting me a new book," Orion said cheerfully.
Alpha Trion smiled, happy to see his little one so bright. "No need to thank me, little one. I saw how much you love reading. Besides, you've already gone through most of the books in the library!"
Orion grinned shyly. "I just couldn't stop reading! It's so much fun!"
The two made their way home, but then—
"Look out!" a shrill scream rang out.
Orion turned in confusion—and suddenly, a large mech came barreling down the street toward him. He was knocked to the ground, and his book went flying from his hands.
Crash!
"Ow!"
The fleeing mech stomped right on Orion's book, crushing it underfoot.
"My book..." Orion gasped, devastated.
Moments later, the sound of heavy footsteps approached behind the mech.
"Stop right there, thief!"
It was a police officer chasing after him. "As if I'd stop—gah!" The thief looked back, only to run straight into a street sign and crash to the ground. He was quickly cuffed and taken down.
Alpha Trion rushed to help Orion up. He picked up the mangled book and handed it back to the boy.
"My book... it's completely ruined," Orion said sadly.
"There, there... it's alright, little one," Alpha Trion comforted him, gently rubbing his back.
The officer, having just finished cuffing the thief, noticed the pair and felt deeply sorry for the devastated child. Without a second thought, he rushed into the bookstore and came back out with a replacement.
"Hey, kid!"
"Yes?" Orion looked up.
"I'm sorry your book got destroyed, so I bought you a new one."
Orion took the book and read the title. "'Justice for Cybertron?' ... Is this a book about police?" he asked, puzzled.
"Oh—sorry. I didn't know what book you had, so I just grabbed something similar... you're not mad, are you?"
"No, not at all. Thank you! I've never read this one before!" His face lit up instantly, his sorrow forgotten.
"Phew. Glad to hear it. May Primus bless you," the officer said, tipping his hat as he walked away.
"Excuse me, sir!"
"Hm?" The officer turned back.
"Can I ask... what's your name?" Orion asked nervously.
The kind officer smiled warmly. "My name's Jazz. See you around, little guy."
Orion waved goodbye as Alpha Trion led him home. The boy clutched his new book tightly in his arms... a smile lingering on his face that wouldn't fade.
