It's cold.

Colder than he ever imagined, not the kind of cold that makes your hands shiver or your breath fog up.

No, this was a deeper kind of cold, one that sank into his bones, into his heart, and made everything feel so... distant.

His blood was pooling fast now, soaking the concrete beneath him like red ink on paper. It was warm at first, now it was lukewarm. Soon, it would be cold too.

His fingers twitched weakly against the pavement, useless. His legs wouldn't move. His chest barely rose with each breath, the world blurred as tears slipped from the corners of his eyes, silent and helpless.

He never thought it would end like this.

Not alone, not in a forgotten alley, surrounded by trash and shadows, not today, especially not today.

It was the anniversary, the day his brothers died, the day everything changed, and now... he would follow.

He used to think that he still have time, time to make things right, time to apologize, but now the clock had run out, and all he had left were broken promises and shattered memories.

He tried to speak, but all that came out was a weak gasp. Still, he forced out the words, even if no one would hear them.

"I am sorry..." Another breath.

"I am sorry, I am sorry..."

Over and over like a chant, like a prayer.

He didn't even realize how much he had hurt them, his brothers. Not until it was too late, not until the laughter stopped, the house gone quiet, and the silence became unbearable.

He always thought that they will always be there, that no matter what cruel words he threw or how selfish he acted, they stay.

But even love has limits and he crossed every one of them.

He thought he knew better, thought his ideas were more important, thought dragging them to that stupid aquarium show mattered more than listening to what they wanted.

One fight, one mistake, one demand too many and then...

The accident.

He didn't even get to say goodbye, didn't get to tell them he adore them, didn't get to tell them he loved them.

He would give anything to turn back time, to hold them again, to laugh, to argue over stupid things, to be brothers again.

But all he had now was regret, blood and coldness.

His breaths were getting shorter, his vision dimmer, he could feel the weight of everything he never said pressing down on his chest heavier than the wound ever could.

"I didn't mean it" he whispered, voice cracking.

"I never meant to hurt all of you..."

He tried to picture their faces, tried to remember the warmth of their smiles, but even the memories were slipping through his fingers like smoke.
