Chapter 8 bad connection?

Alyssa POV
It's been a week already, and Kaitlyn hasn't shown up. Most of us are grieving, well her friends are, because we don't know where she is. "Good morning Class." My substitute teacher Mr.Grimes spoke. "now your English Teacher wanted you guys to work in groups and she has assigned you already." He stated. "Alyssa and Caleb." Mr.Grimes stated looking around. Caleb walked over and flopped down in a desk beside me and moved closer to me. I haven't thought about him since I got pulled over by his dad, but that doesn't mean my crush for him died. "So, how's it goin'?" Caleb asked placing his hand over mines; leaning closer to me. I began to feel hot. "It's, um. I'm fine." I replied. "You look bad." He spoke. "Oh ...well thanks for making me feel better." I replied rolling my eyes. "Your welcome." He said with a smile. I looked at him and i was about to cry over reacting about Rachel and where she could be. I felt my heart aching. A tear fell from my cheek without me even noticing it. "Hey. I was just kidding Alyssa." Caleb stated grabbing my chin.  "I didn't know you were that sensitive." He stated trying to look me in my eyes, but i kept pushing him away. My voice was drowned and I couldn't speak so I wrote on a piece of paper then raised my hand to go to the bathroom.
Caleb POV
I didn't think she was sensitive at all. All I was doing was making a joke but she started crying after I said it. I don't like hurting girls feelings, but I can see that I need to be cautious with my words. I walked out of the classroom when Mr.Grimes turned his back, and I caught up with Alyssa. She ran into the bathroom and I followed her. "Leave me alone!" Alyssa yelled. I locked the girls bathroom door. "Alyssa?" I asked questionably. " I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, I swear." I rose my hands up in surrender. "Can you unlock the door?" I asked leaning against her stall door. I heard her sniffing then blowing her nose. "Alyssa?" I asked again. Someone banged on the door. It was the janitor. "Why is this door locked !" She screamed. I heard her keys rattling against the door so I got in the stall next to hers, and jumped into the one she was in. She practically screamed but I pressed her face in my chest so she wouldn't do anything that was unthinkable. Her body was shaking so I held her tighter.
Alyssa POV
As Caleb pressed my head to his chest, my thoughts about Kaityln began to disappear. When he held me tighter, they were fully gone. It was like his arms were the assurance that Kaitlyn was alright. It didn't dawn on me how he got in here until I realized that he jumped the stall door. Like omg, he can be my superman, Spider-Man, or bat man any day!  I began to get comfortable as he held me and I started shaking when I heard the Janitor speak. "These nasty girls. Ugh. Always  writing boys names on the stalls. Ugh. Most of them don't even want them. " she spoke as She began cleaning.  She started singing body party by Ciara. We could see her dancing in the mirror with  her mop and I started laughing silently. A few seconds  later I felt Caleb laughing too. He laughed so hard he hit the stall's wall. She stopped and we did too. Then she  made her way next to our stall and knocked loudly on the door. "Is there anyone in here?" Caleb jumped on the toilet seat and sat me down on the toilet. "Ouch!" I yelled as I looked up at Caleb angry. "Honey are you alright in there?" The janitor asked.  Before I could say anything, Caleb pulled my hair,made a fart sound ,and dropped his phone in the toilet. "Oouucch!" I yelled and looked at him. "Ca-!" I was about to scream, but he covered my mouth. "oh honey are you alright?" The janitor asked.  She was trying to open the door but Caleb bent down, passed gas then fanned it at the door. It smelled so bad. "Oh my gosh!" The janitor yelled. I'm coming back with air fresher and pepo Bismol. Okay?" The janitor said as she walked out the door. I didn't say anything until she left.
Caleb POV
I removed my hand from her mouth and she rose up to turn to look at me with her arms folded. I cussed when I seen my phone in the toilet. When I jumped down from the toilet she had ran out of the bathroom. "Why am I doing this?" I questioned myself then I ran out of the bathroom trying to catch her. She took off running so I chased her, and when I caught  her I threw her around my shoulder and walked outside into the schools parking lot.
Alyssa POV
I don't know why I had stayed in the bathroom as long as I did with him, so I ran out of it because I was starting to get hot and bothered. When I heard footsteps running up to me and realized it was him, I took off running but not for long. He threw me across his shoulder and we went into the schools Parking lot. "Why did you take off?" Caleb asked me. I didn't reply. "Alyssa..come on !" Caleb stated. He placed me on the ground and laid on me with his head on my stomach. "Can you please let me go?" I asked. He scooted up to my face. "Are you uncomfortable" he asked me. "Yes extremely." I added. He got off of me then pulled me up by my arms, and held my hands. "Come to Baskin Robins with me." Caleb stated."I'll order you some ice cream too, and we can go out to the movies if you want." He finished."Caleb, we have cl-". "I'll pay for that too." He added interrupting me. " we can skip it. It's fine." He added. " look, I don't like to be desperate or coming on strong. It's just that you have been depressed lately and it's bothering me. Plus, taking you out, is my apology for hurting your feelings." He finished.
Caleb POV
I went way out of my league and I know it. I just wanted to make her feel good, so she could stop being depressed. I can see she was thinking. She looked back at the school, then looked at me. She took a deep breath. "okay." She finally answered. "YEAAHH!!" I jumped around her and grabbed her. She laughed and I picked her up princess style and headed to my moms Red Dodge Challenger. Once I placed her in her car, I slid across the hood and pointed at her. "You are going to have the time of your life missy!" She laughed And I got into the car and pulled off. I don't know why I'm starting to cheer her up a lot now.
Austin POV
I didn't go to school today, instead I stayed the night with William since he was scared of what happened last week.  I checked my phone. I had three missed calls from Rachel, and three text messages from her. I replied with "Hey. I'm fine. I just stayed over my friends house. I'll come see you soon."  I turned off my phone when William rose and kissed me on my face. I got up took a shower, put on a yellow v neck t shirt with white skinny jeans that were lose at the waist, and some yellow Nikes that I bought yesterday. I put on some black shades and walked outside. I opened up Williams garage and drives out of it in my black Audi that my dad had bought me before he died. I called Rachel and told her to he ready.
Rachel POV
I was in class when Austin called me so I asked to be excused and called him when I went inside of the bathroom. Ugh it stinked in here so I walked outside. I picked up. "Hello." ".Hey, I'm coming to get you." Austin said.  "But I'm in school, and why aren't you here?" I asked. "I didn't feel like coming so I'm coming to get you out now." He added.  "Hmmph." I bluffed. "What?" Austin asked. "Why did you-"! The door opened. "HEY! Get off of that phone young lady!" Exclaimed The janitor. I heard Austin say something, but I hanged up the phone and went to class. A minute later while we were changing classes, I received a text from him saying "come outside."
Alyssa POV
"Um,  Golden metal ribbon and snickers please." I requested. "Health bar and jamoca almond fudge for me." Caleb added. "Whip cream, nuts, and a cherry on top?" The lady asked. "Yes for me." I replied. "Everything but the nuts on it for me." Caleb answered. The lady fixed our stuff, and Caleb paid for it and drove to the beach, which was only down the street from Baskin Robins. We sat on the hood of the car. So why don't you like nuts on your ice cream?" I asked him chuckling. "I see your trying to be funny." He laughed. "I'm serious. Why?" I asked. He looked and me smirking and shooked his head. I began to get shy and embarrassed, so I turned my head.  " it's because my father forced me to eat them to become over my fears of the peanut man." Caleb said looking up at the sun.  "Are you serious or are you joshing me?" I asked looking concerned.  He had tears coming down his cheeks and I dropped my ice cream to hold him. I felt him shaking while he was crying so I rubbed his back for comfort. He grabbed me then pulled away and it turns out that he was laughing at me. "You actually feel for that!" He said while laughing. "I didn't at first, until you starting crying!" I yelled.  I dropped my ice cream trying to comfort you." I added. I didn't know if I should cry because that was some good ice cream, or if I should be mad because i wasted some good ice cream for his fine self. He fell off of the car laughing and I jumped off of it picking up my ice cream that fell in the sand. " you can get some of mine." He spoke as he chuckled. I grabbed my spoon which was still clean and placed it in my pocket, and walked towards the back of the car.
Calebs POV
"Alyssa?" I said once I stood onto my feet.  I heard no reply. I looked on the passenger side of the car and she wasn't there. I turned my back and right when I did she pressed her ice cream in my face. I heard her laughing. "I got you back!" Alyssa laughed loudly. She tried to take off but I grabbed her arm fell on the ground on top of her. She was still laughing and I was too. She had a gorgeous smile but I made it even more gorgeous when i grabbed some ice cream out of her container and placed some on her face. "St-*laughing* STop!!" Alyssa stated still laughing. I got off of her and started running once she wiped her face and started chasing me. I ran towards the water on purpose. I hit behind the life guard shack on the beach, and When she was tired of looking for me. I ran full speed . "ALLYSSAAA! I yelled once i ran to pick  her up and and crashed into the water. Her face was priceless and she knew it, because she was still laughing. I was loving this day and she was too.
Austin's POV
I picked up Rachel and she looked more beautiful than the first time I seen her. I know what I'm doing is wrong, but I still love her. "Hey gorgeous." I spoke to her. "hey." Rachel said nonchalantly. I can tell she was bothered so I just drove off trying to start a conversation. "I missed y-." I was about to say but she interrupted me. "Take me home." Rachel interrupted me. "What?" I replied. "Take me home Austin." Rachel repeated. "Why?" I asked. "Because I want to go home and change." Rachel  added. "Oh okay." I replied.  Once I pulled outside of Rachel's house, I tried to lean towards her to plant a kiss on her forehead, but she dodge it and walked inside of her house. I killed the motor and followed her inside. She closed the door in my face, and I felt hurt but I walked around the back and walked through the screen door into her house. It's always unlocked. I pulled back the matt that was under the door but didn't find the key to open it with. So I searched the table and found it in a blue cup full of rocks and opened it.  I placed the key back and the cup and walked inside. She wasn't downstairs so she had to be upstairs in her room. I walked upstairs and when I opened her door, I heard the shower running. I closed the door back and took off my shoes. A few minutes later I heard the shower stop, and I was about to walk in but she had locked the door. I waited by the door. She opened it. "What do you want?" Rachel said partially opening the door rolling her eyes.
