Baking In The Kitchen

 🍓Sprout's POV:

     I woke up feeling good. Too good. I felt like I was forgetting something. Something very  important to me. I looked at the time on my clock."Oh, it's 9 am." I start getting ready, then I put some clothes on."It looks like it's 9:18 already." How is 9:18 already? Do I really take that long? After trying to figure my question out, I start heading to the kitchen. As I was heading there, I saw Toodles. She was drawing something...hm, oh, she noticed I was next to her. She stood up with a great smile on her face along with the drawing in her hand. I looked down to see her holding up a picture. I couldn't see the picture though, she handed it to me and smiled even bigger.

     "I drew you and Uncle Cosmo! do you like it?" She looked so proud and joyful.

     I looked at the picture seeing Cosmo and I, and Toodles in the middle. It looked like we were all holding hands. It was drawn lightly with lots and lots of color. I looked at her, then the picture again. Cosmo's head was big but small at the same time. He was drawn short but looked like Cosmo enough. Cosmo looked liked he was drawn often. It looks like she had practiced drawing him earlier. I, on the other hand was drawn more...how do I say this....funny. I looked well and I was tall except a little too tall. But I don't have the heart to tell her that. Everything else looked great, she drew herself really well. I sometimes forget she likes to draw herself with Rodger. So she knows how to draw herself. she looked the best out of both of us. she drew herself the right height, she made her smile big but not too big.  I then answered her question before I forgot what it even was.

     "Toodles, its the best drawing I've seen anyone draw. You are really good at drawing!" Tisha came at the wrong moment and heard me say that. 

     Whatever she wanted to tell me or Toodles, it was long gone. She walked away. She wasn't mad because Toodles is still in fact a little girl. It would break Tisha's heart if she made Toodles sad. She didn't say anything but deep down she knew that she was the best artist out of all of us. She just smiled it off and went back to cleaning. I told Toodles to keep it for now then show it to Cosmo. She nodded and went along with her day all happy. Then I started heading back to the kitchen.

      When I got to the kitchen I saw Cosmo. Cosmo was making something. He was making a cake. He was currently stirring the batter. Then it hit me. Like someone threw a brick at my face. (Something, in fact, Shrimpo would do) Cosmo then stopped stirring the batter.

     "Sprout, you were supposed to be here an hour ago, baking this cake with me," Cosmo stated as he started stirring the batter again. "I just started because you took too long and grew impatient"

     "Sorry love, I didn't mean to be late. I promise," I say as I started walking towards him. "do you need help with anything?"

     "Actually, I need you to prepare the baking pan." Cosmo said still stirring the batter."As you can see-" he shows me the batter."-my hands are too full." He laughs softly.

     "I can do that for you!" I kiss him on the cheek then I go get the pan.

     I started getting the things to prepare the baking pan. I think Cosmo is about to finish but I really can't tell. I greased and floured the pan, because we didn't have any parchment paper. He finished stirring just in time. I put the pan on the counter, so he could transfer the batter to the pan. I started to preheat the oven. He puts the pan in the oven and sets it for the right amount of time. Cosmo then kissed me which caught me off guard. The kiss felt light and soft. It was perfect for me and it's ALL for me. Even though it was only a few seconds, I really liked how it felt.

     "Just to return the kiss back" Cosmo smiled. 

     His smile looked warm and happy. Maybe even the warmest smile I've ever seen on him. No, that's not true. He has made the best smile even before that, I just can't remember when. He looks really confused now, but he's putting it into a...smile? That's weird. Does he do that without me knowing? Oh, it looks like the cake is almost ready.
