[Scene: U.A. High – Class 1-B, Morning Homeroom]

The chatter in Class 1-B buzzed louder than usual that morning. Everyone had heard rumors of a student transfer. Whispers of a powerful multi-quirk user with mysterious energy flickered through the room.

Monoma Neito sat smugly in his seat near the window, legs crossed, arms behind his head, already prepping a dramatic monologue in case the new student dared to compare themselves to Class 1-A again.

The door slid open.

"Everyone, quiet down," Vlad King commanded. "We have a new student joining us. She's recently been moved up from Class 1-C due to her quirk compatibility and performance."

Chiyo stepped in slowly. Purple eyes avoiding the stares, her posture shy yet composed. Her long dark lashes cast soft shadows over her face, and her uniform was crisp—yet her fingers subtly twitched as if they held a memory of pain.

"...I'm Chiyo Tomoko," she spoke, soft-spoken but clear. "I look forward to learning with you all."

Some students smiled and whispered—especially at hearing she had four quirks. Monoma blinked.

Four? he mouthed, suddenly sitting upright. That's suspicious.

"She'll be sitting over there," Vlad gestured—right next to Monoma.

Chiyo's eyes flicked toward the empty seat and then to the boy beside it. His blond hair was perfectly tousled and his smirk practically screamed "I'm better than you."

She quietly walked over and sat down, placing her bag neatly by her feet. Her hand subtly pressed against her wrist—just a little spike of pain. Not now. Not here.

Monoma leaned in.

"Well well, Chiyo from 1-C, huh?" He grinned. "Four quirks, promoted to Class 1-B, and now sitting next to the class's most charismatic and talented student—what a lucky day for you."

She turned her head slightly toward him, blinking. "...That's quite the introduction."

"I'd say you're welcome, but I suppose I should be asking what kind of tricks someone like you is hiding."

"I'm not hiding anything," she said calmly, voice like still water. "But I'll do my best."

He stared at her. A pause.

Then narrowed his eyes in intrigue.

"You're oddly composed. Are you secretly plotting to dethrone me from my class rep status? Because I will not go down without a dramatic monologue."

She gave the slightest smile. "I didn't know there was a throne involved."

Monoma, internally: She's not intimidated? She's... playing it cool?

But before he could retort, he noticed her subtly shift in her seat—her hand lightly shaking.

His smirk wavered just slightly.

"...Are you alright?" he asked, this time a little less theatrical.

Chiyo nodded, avoiding eye contact, but her breath hitched.

"I'm fine. Just... forgot to take something this morning."

The usual chaos of U.A.'s cafeteria hummed in the air—students clustered around tables, trading lunch items, gossiping, and showing off quirks for no reason at all.
