I hugged her back in return "Sleep well, Nadia"
"You too" she replied then went straight to her bedroom to get some sleep.
I, however stayed up a little more, wondering what the mystery was behind the tolling of the bell at this late hour.
Afterwards, I decided to finally get some sleep.
Meanwhile.
I found myself in a mysterious and eerie area, surrounded by clouds of misty fog. I felt as if the dead were lingering around in a place so silently. I was wandering around within the mist of mystery until I came to a holt. From afar I saw a pair of what looked like fireflies. But they weren't flashing like these insects usually do. I remained still until I saw these two fireflies emerging.
That's when I realized these "fireflies" turned out to be a pair of eyes since a figure was drawing near.
My breath got caught within my throat as I felt immense fear take a hold of me, so out of instinct, I spun around and began running away.
I didn't want to know what that is and I don't wanna know! Whatever was after me, didn't seem to be friendly. So I kept on running aimlessly through the thick, heavy fog.
My legs began aching and burning due to running for what seems to be forever. As the fog lifted a little bit, up ahead I saw a pond.
As I got to that pond, I stopped, resting my hands on my slightly bent knees while taking a breather. I feel so close to passing out but I managed to pull myself together. I believe I lost whatever was after me.
Once I got myself together, I turned to gaze over at the eerie pond. The water was still and is the pitchest black and as black as night. Though for some reason, I felt oddly drawn to it, as if some ominous trance is trying to pull me straight into the dark forbidden pool of abyss.
I wanted to pull away but I couldn't, something wasn't letting me, I kept looking hard at the water trying to see right through it. The water was so dark, I couldn't even see my reflection at all! Not even a shimmer of light. The more I was staring hard at the water, the more I felt my body leaning over close. If this keeps on, I might end up falling into the water!
But then, out of nowhere, just as I was about to fall in, I found myself being pulled away from the pond, causing me to break free from that trance. I gasped and was now turned to face someone I recognized.
Turned out, it was that boy, Dylan.
I was stunned to see him there before me. But I also felt free now that he pulled me away from that eerie pond.
His hands were still holding onto my arms while he looked at me with a serious expression. "You know. You shouldn't be wandering off like that. Especially in a place like this. It's dangerous" he said a bit stern but steady.
I was caught off guard a bit to see him here, in fact I don't know why he was here. But I am grateful that he was able to prevent me from falling into that pond of the unknown.
"Sorry...." I mustered out while still looking up at him.
Dylan would glance over my shoulder briefly then set his gaze back on me. "I sure caught you in the nick of time. That pond itself is a trap. Once you set your sights on this pond in such a close distance, it'll draw you in, resulting in instant death"
Hearing about the pond sent me chills and felt myself gulp hard. "In that case, I'm more than glad that you pulled me away" I said.
"Now, Olivia. I need you to listen to me and very carefully because this is urgent" Dylan began then I saw him stop to look around as if making sure we were alone or something. Then he returned his attention to me.
