It was as of an instant that Hui Ying knew what Sang Zhi wanted to do.
The two girls stood up, clapping their hands as they sung while walking around Sang Yan. "Welcome home, Yan." They sang together, teasing the older male on coming home. It probably frustrated him more, what his sister and her friend were doing.
But Hui Ying didn't care, she liked teasing Sang Yan. He was like the older brother she never had, a brother she could tease and annoy. And he would do the same, because that's what's brothers did. Sang Yan was the brother, and she was like an added sister.
"Enough, enough!" Sang Yan spoke, looking at the egg pancake their father had placed on the table.
Hui Ying hummed as she saw it, she had smelled it on the way to their house and she was really craving it. "If you want, you can also have a bite Hui Ying." Their mother spoke as she smiled softly, placing a cup of water in front of her.
The girl bowed her head, showing appreciation for the older couple that she could eat from their food. "Thank you, I really appreciate it." She spoke, smiling widely.
Sang Zhi took a bite of the egg pancake, before excitingly wiggling her thumbs up in the air. "It's so good!" She hummed as she took another bite quickly. Her older brother copied her movement, mocking her movement.
Hui Ying slapped him, stopping his from mocking his younger sister. "Stop teasing her, please." She spoke, shaking her head which made him stop.
Most of the time he did listen to her, although he considered her his sister, he still listened to her as a friend.
"Dad," Sang Yan coughed up, changing the topic as he ignored the daggering look Sang Zhi was giving him as the other end of the table. "I'm moving back to the main campus." He announced, nodding his head. "So i might need to borrow your car."
His father nodded his head, his eyebrows furrowing the slightest bit. "Do you have a lot of luggage? I can get you a moving company." He spoke casually, clearing his throat as there was still some soup left in it.
Hui Ying turned towards the two, listening in as she was curious about Sang Yan moving. "Not necessary." Sang Yan spoke.
She had never really imagined him going to university, She had always imagined him staying at home - playing some video game he'll probably be bored of in a few weeks. She never imagined he would grow up that fast, even if he's older, Sang Yan always felt like a younger brother to Hui Ying.
It was why the first time she heard about it, she got upset. She thought that Sang Yan moving away, meant him not talking to her again. She was sixteen and emotional, it was normal for her to be upset.
Sang Yan teased her about it for awhile, but after some time he comforted her about it. The two did care about each other, in a lot of ways.
"I remember that the main campus is somewhere close to the girls' school." Their mother spoke, looking over at her husband as she hoped they had the same idea. He nodded his head as he realised what she meant. "You can pick them up from school later." He spoke, pointing his finger at his son.
"No." Sang Yan spoke quickly, immediately making up his mind at the request. "I'm in college now, i'm not taking care of these kids again." He spoke, his eyes locking with Hui Ying.
It made her scoff as she shook her head, immediately breaking eye contact with him as she was slightly annoyed. She was embarrassed to say that she had missed him, and him picking her up from school would make her feel better again.
She had missed him, even if she tried to play it off like she hadn't. "I'll pick up Hui Ying but not this demon." Sang Yan spoke, pointing towards his sister who was looking down.
