The door burst open. "Augustine!" The voice cut through the silence of the memories I didn't want to think about, loud and familiar, the voice  made me jump on my seat, almost making me fall.

"Sarina, what—" I tried. She grabbed my hand pulling me outside with her. "Sarina! What's going on?" I demanded. Very, very confused. I glanced back at my mom, who was still sitting on the kitchen counter. She just shrugged with a confused look in her face.

As soon as we were outside Sarina pushed me into my cushioned chair, I grabbed the pillow from behind me and hugged it tightly to my chest. I looked at her, eyes wide. "What the hell is going on?"

"Well, I had enough of you being sad over a boy." She said. She looked pissed, I doubted it was at me, she rarely got angry or even annoyed at me. "He is an insignificant rat, who doesn't deserve your tears or your pain. I knew he was bad news since the first time I met him." She started passing.

"If I were him I wouldn't step out of my house for at least ten years, because I'm pissed, and my dad bought me a pocket knife." She said, stopping to look at me with a warning look and a dark grin. Now I was scared.

"Why would your parents give you that,  you'll hurt yourself." I said, give her a look.

"I know, I'm a danger with this thing." She smiled, glancing at her pocket knife, I didn't even realize she had gotten out. She started twirling through her fingers, almost cutting herself. Then she frowned again, "but that's not the point! I'll bury him alive, do you hear me?" She said.

Not knowing what else to do I just nodded.

"Great. Now wait here for a second." She said pointing one of her perfectly done nails at me. They had tiny red hearts on the base of the nail. They matched her white top and her pink skirt.

"Okay..?"

She jumped off the fence, again. What the hell. I shook my head, deciding not to question it. This was a normal day with a best friend like that, I never felt grateful for her, I needed a distraction. A distraction to not think about the jerk.

The jerk whose name will not be mentioned for my makeup purposes.

Yup I applied some makeup after the 'are you okay?' talk with my mom. I didn't know Sarina was going to pay a visit, or that I was going to sit outside my house waiting for a Madwoman. I did it because I needed something that I could control. Maybe I couldn't control my emotions right now, but I could do my makeup.

She came back about five minutes later. I didn't move an inch since she disappeared.

She placed a box with a sticker that said 'emergencies only' on the glass table on the corner next to me. "Ta-da."

"Em... Sorry for my ignorance, but what the heck is that." I said looking between her and the box.

"When we became friends I made this box. It's for any emergency. Like a crush, a pregnancy—"

"What? You think I will get pregnant?" I asked horrified.

"You never know. Better be prepared than sorry." She said, her brown eyes looked at me like I was the one being insane for not being prepared. Well I'm sorry for not planning a pregnancy at seventeen? I guess?
