"Are you sure this is all alright?" Remus checked for the third time that morning. He was sat at the small kitchen table in the seaside cottage Tonks was renting from a Muggle cousin on her Dad's side. She had insisted that he had the spare bedroom for the night and he had woken up that morning to the delicious smell of frying bacon.

"Its fine." She sighed, placing the overflowing plate of full English in front of him with a small laugh, "Its not a bother, I like the company and you needed a place. Stay as long as you want, I really don't mind. And, today I'm going take you to see the views from the cliffs. Its beautiful when the weathers like this. Trust me. Molly might come round later as well." She leant back against the dresser and started to eat her own, occasionally yawning between mouthfuls. Remus reluctantly started on his own, but soon sped up as he realised how good it was.

"Thank you so much Tonks." He smiled appreciatively, taking his empty plate to the sink a mere five minutes later, "That was delicious."

"You're welcome." She blushed a pale pink, her messy, shoulder length hair copying, "I'm glad you liked it. Its the only edible thing I can cook to be honest. Do you know when the next meeting is by the way?"

"Friday at eleven." Remus replied straight away, leaning on the windowsill and looking out to sea, "Its going to be so quiet without..." Once more his sentence was broken by the unwanted arrival of his tears.

Tonks sighed slightly as she went over to him, wrapping an arm around his shoulders in a tight hug. Carefully she guided him over to the table and chairs, sitting him down before perching on the table opposite him.

It took at least ten minutes for him the regain his composure, Tonks never once leaving his side.

"Do you want to walk it off?" She asked softly, "Go along the cliffs." Remus nodded weakly, wiping at his cheeks as another tear leaked from his chocolate brown eyes. Tonks walked out into the hallway after a small smile, handing him his shoes before pulling on her own boots.

He found himself unable to stop the smile rising on his face as she nearly tripped reaching up for his coat. Remus's instincts kicked in and he caught Tonks from behind, his arms going around her waist. Her foot twisted beneath her and she spun as he caught her. They ended with her pressed into his chest and their faces only about ten centimetres apart, leaning back onto the coats.

She blushed a bright red, her eyes turning to a shade of violet but never leaving his. It took every last ounce of self control he had to not (as Sirius would put it) snog her senseless there and then. His heart felt like it was about to burst out of his chest it was pounding so hard, and he could feel that Tonks's was doing the same.

"We should go." She eventually broke the silence in a voice barely above a whisper. Remus turned even pinker, realising that he was still holding her close to his chest and letting go with a gasp. Tonks handed him his coat as normally as she could, her whole body was burning from his touch and her heart felt like it was about to desert her through her mouth.

As she locked the door behind her and linked her arm in Remus's, she couldn't help but smile. There had been a moment when he had just caught her that she nearly kissed him. She had waited so long and wanted more than anything to feel his lips dancing their way over hers. But he had pulled away, judging by the look in his beautiful eyes having an internal battle.

They walked together along the footpath by the edge, arm in arm and occasionally sneaking glances at each other. Soon, her house was just a speck in the distance and they were surrounded by the smell of salt and a gentle sea breeze. Just ahead of them stood an old apple tree, long since dead but a large swing hung from a single bough. Tonks pulled him towards it by the hand, sitting on the swing and inviting him to do the same before looking out to sea.
