[Eight]

September 28, 2036

I've been with the Cipher pack for two weeks now.

A lot has happened in those two weeks. Lucas drove off half of the pack, Lucas marked me, I became the official Luna, we had a ceremony and celebration, we've even had a run in with a small rogue pack.

One thing that did not happen, however, is mating with Lucas. I was certain our mating would be completed after the Luna ceremony, but Lucas wasn't for it.

'When we mate, it will be on our own time, when we're ready. Not when we're supposed to be mated. It doesn't feel natural to me.'

I have to admit, it is pretty attractive and romantic when a guy puts sex on hold for the perfect moment.

I am currently sitting at the kitchen's breakfast bar, watching as Lucas whips us up a batch of pancakes. He is very confident of himself in the kitchen, he knows exactly where everything is, the right amount of measurements. He doesn't read the recipe, and while that does scare me slightly, I am impressed he cooks his own breakfast.

Travis and Jake enter the kitchen, throwing punches at each other. I watch with amusement as Jake is thrown into a kitchen chair, causing it to break at impact. I hear a growl as Lucas drops a plate of pancakes in front of me and marches over to pick Jake up by the neck of his shirt.

Travis and Jake have become good friends towards me. They act like the older brothers I never had. They play video games with me, and then they also protect me. They sit with me at breakfast and share racial, sexual, and sarcastic jokes with me, but then they treat me with the utmost respect.

Lisa has also been a good friend. She reminds me much of Aunt Natalie, with her high spirit and her gleaming appearance. She is happy with Travis and it shows as she walks through the house with purpose. Lisa has been my source of gossip.

You guys are such children. Lucas snaps in the mind link.

Travis is laughing his butt of, doubling over and gripping the table for support as Jake gets shoved out of the house. Lucas then returns to push Travis out as well.

I can hear him laughing, even when the back door is shut.

"I liked that table set." I whisper mostly to myself as I stare at the black and brown, hand crafted wooden chair laying in pieces on the ground. The chairs and tables were made of oak and stained a dark brown and black color.

Lucas stands across from me, leaning on the counter as he drowns our pancakes with syrup.

Just how I like them.

We both eat from the giant stack, making our way through until we reach each other at the middle. I am completely full, allowing Lucas to finish off the last few bites. He then discards the plate and forks into the sink and walks over to stand behind me.

Lucas flicks the hair off my shoulder and nuzzles into the crook of my neck, giving my mark a faint kiss. Fire erupts all over my body as I lean against him, moaning. "Will you do something for me?" I ask.

Lucas kisses along my shoulder and back up to my jaw, nibbling on my ear. Anything. He whispers in my head. I close my eyes, trying to focus on what I wanted to ask him, but his lips are so distracting. I

"Will you teach me-" I am cut off when he bits down at my skin gently, causing me to gasp. I jump off the stool and turn to face Lucas, holding a hand out to keep him from advancing me. His eyes dance with amusement. "How to speak your language?" I finish.
