[14] Exact opposites

Paris' Pov:

No, it couldn't be! We couldn't have the same mark.

We were exact opposites, how could this be?

Just then, Kyle seemed to notice that his mark was visible and he immediately fumbled to find his shoe and put it back on.

"Um...it's stupid. I hate my mark. I don't believe in love anyways." Kyle quickly spoke up.

What? How could be not believe in love?

Kyle's Pov:

"How can you not believe in love?" Paris asked, shocked.

I bit my lip.

Could I tell her?

She continued staring at me and I sighed, explaining to her my story.

When I was done, she looked upset and shocked.

"But love is wonderful. It doesn't exactly work for everyone but it's because they made mistakes. If you find the right person and not cheat, love will blossom." Paris answered.

I rolled my eyes, "Yeah sure, if anyone would love me anyways."

Paris seemed to have wanted to say something but she bit it back.

She's acting jumpy...what's going on?

Paris' Pov:

How could I share the same mark as someone who does not believe in love.

Anyone but that, please!

I felt like screaming.

Maybe that's why my mark symbolized a broken heart, to prove what state my heart would be in.

I didn't know if I should tell Kyle that we shared the same mark.

He doesn't seem to know what my mark looks like, so maybe that's a good thing?

Kyle's Pov (sorry for all the switching):

"Hey, you saw my mark. Now let me see yours." I asked curiously.

"Ummm I'd rather not."

"Come on, it's not a big deal anyways..."

She's definitely hiding something.

I quickly grabbed her ankle to look at her mark and gasped.

We had the same mark.

I didn't know what to say.

Suddenly, Paris jumped up and grabbed her things before running out of my dorm and I didn't bother going after her.

I just didn't understand how we could have the same mark.
