"That... works too."
I watched as Pyro made the food, when suddenly an intense reek of alcohol filled the senses of my nostrils as Demo from behind me blurted and slurred.
"Ain't that a sight!? The mumbling devil making food. Yer ain t plannin' on using the stove are you?" He seemed to find himself hilarious as he laughed at his poor attempt at mocking.
Pyro seemed to pay no mind at all as if he was in his own little world, as he had finished making the sandwiches, passing a plate to me.
I decided to speak up. "Why are you calling him that? You guys are on the same team. Shouldn't you have mutual respect?"
Demo seemed to pause, his once sickening-at-the-time cheerful expression dropped as he took a swig of his drink and then his arm immediately rested with the drink beside him.
"You can talk all you want and even mock him as much as you like, but you should bare in mind your team would most likely be rendered useless without him."
"Aye, it was a joke." Demo quickly defended himself.
"Didn't feel like one."
"I'm sure he can defend himself."
"I'm sure you can learn to have more of an appreciation for him."
Demo was taken back by the sudden choice of words as he cleared his throat to speak. "Of course I appreciate him."
"You sure about that cyclopes?"
I noticed as his eyebrows narrowed as anger kept up, showing me his dislike for the taunt. "What was that lass?" He challenged, expecting me to mock him some more, however I didn't give him the satisfaction.
I spoke again. "Doesn't feel nice to be mocked. Does it?"
This seemed to make Demo pause in thought, he was rendered speechless, his angry expression turned to one of reflection and confusion.
I started eating my sandwich, staring as Demos face kept changing... Who thought I'd have to be teaching two grown ass men about blatant respect.
Suddenly out of nowhere; before Pyro could even nip at his food, Demo grabbed him by his arm, pulling him out of the room, leaving me stunned at the sudden complex action.
I put the piece I was chowing down on back on the plate, watching as Demo forced Pyro out of the kitchen. "Strange...."
Demo's POV:
I pulled Pyro into the living room where nobody else seemed to be, making him sit down and I plopped myself down beside him, taking the last few sips of my drink and throwing it behind me, hearing the bottle clank on the ground.
I grinned as I began to speak. "Y/n thinks I don't appreciate you enough. We're going to prove her wrong by spending some quality time together."
"Mmmrgh mmr mmr."
I was confused. "Err... What was that?"
"MMMRGH MMR MMR!"
"Yeah. It is a shame what happened to Engie."
Pyro let out a sigh, as if to indicate that was not what he said.
"Hey!" I began. "I have an idea for some bonding!"
Pyro tilted his head. "Mmgh?"
"How about we get those blus back for what they did to Engie's machine? Me and you!" I wrapped an arm around Pyros shoulder pulling him in, and enticing grin on my face.
Pyro blankly stared back not completely understanding the idea I was trying to put across.
I opened a nearby drawer, my hands scurrying around in a hurry to look for something. 'Come on Spy! You have to have a lighter laying around.' I thought to myself as I rummaged through the clutter.
