I woke up and completely forgot about the events of yesterday as I hoisted myself from the comfort of the bed I was in, I heard shooting from outside and explosions, I assumed I got use to it, I was sighing realizing today was going to be the day that I got to go home. (Not that I wanted to.)

What if I didn't have to...?

I noticed the gunshot sounds and the explosions when a dark plan entered my head. 'They seem distracted. I could just sabotage the machine..." my brain instantly switched acknowledging how hard Engineer must've worked on it, I thought it was best to leave it and go home as much as I didn't want to. 'What if it was just for one more day.... Besides. Nobody is getting hurt are they? And even if it backfired I could always say it was a prank right? '

I made up my mind as I crept over to the door, pushing it open and stepping out into the hallway, I glanced at each room as I hadn't been in Engineers room and had no idea where it would reside, one room took my interest, the only room that seemed to have the cleanest and perfected door, a small emblem near the doors handle showed Engineers icon. I giggled in delight looking at it when suddenly a man's laughter seemed to overpower mine, I quickly turned around to see Soldier on the floor roaring with laughter with his rocket launcher, I sighed feeling relieved that it was just soldier, but this certainly makes the plan more difficult.

"Soldier! What are you doing here shouldn't you be with the others fighting?"

He had finished laughing instantly as I asked. "I HEARD FOOTSTEPS FROM THIS WA-"

I quickly covered his mouth with my hand, lifting my right hand to my lips: motioning him to keep silent. "You don't want the blus hearing and coming down here." I whispered. I wasn't actually worried whether the blus heard. I was more concerned if a smarter member of the red team would've overheard and then my plan would've been ruined.

Soldier quickly nodded as I took my hand away from his face.

"Soldier, could you do me a favour?"

I watched a toothy grin spread across his face. "What?"

I thought for a second about how I'll make my plan work. "Well. I thought I heard something in this room." I pointed to Engies room without mentioning whose it was.

Before Soldier could barge in I quickly pulled him back by his shoulder. "It didn't sound threatening, could you wait outside while I investigate."

His eyebrows narrowed as if he was genuinely thinking about this one.

I decided to reassure him. "If anyone's in there I'll yell for you."

He nodded, preparing his gun just in case.

I quickly opened Engies door, speedily shutting it behind me. Behind the door my back was pressed against it and my eyes were closed. I sighed in relief that soldier had fallen for it.

I glanced around the room and it was surprisingly extremely clean, all around stuck to the walls were blueprints of all different devices that Engie had been building or had already built, I could tell by the detailed blueprints that he really takes pride in his job.

One blueprint stood out to me and it was labelled. 'multiverse travel machine' I assumed that had to be the machine to look for, although according to the blueprints it wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be, it was designed and looked exactly like the teleporter, to the side there was a work table with a large black cloth covering what was below it.

I carefully walked over, grabbing the hem of the cloth and tugging it away, revealing the machine.

I stared at it for awhile, I then took it off the table, realising it was heavier than I thought, I threw it, watching it smack down to the ground as I stamped on it, watching it break more and more I got carried away desperately as to not go home from outside the room I heard soldiers voice.
