(Ambulance sirens wailing in the distance...)
Reporter: "A student was found dead, lying on the ground. Some say she jumped from the rooftop... This student took her own life."
There's a rumor about a girl who jumped off the rooftop. But is it true? Is there any proof that she actually did it? Why would someone take their own life?
The sound of the ambulance and the whispers of people make me uneasy. I heard that the girl's name was Yumishi. She was a first-year college student at our school. They say she had no parents—just one sister who supported her every day. Now that she's gone, how will her sister accept the truth? Who will be there for her now? No one knows where her sister is. They had been separated because her sister is a working student in another city.
I didn't know Yumishi well, but I always saw her. Our classrooms were next to each other. She was quiet—an introvert. She was also pretty and smart. A lot of guys liked her, especially that boy named Liam Li.
Sometimes, I felt uneasy whenever Liam Li was with Yumishi. There was always a girl watching them from afar—standing still, staring. Her expression was blank, her eyes dark, and yet, I could tell she was jealous. I often saw her talking to Yumishi, but their conversations never lasted long. Every time, Yumishi would be left speechless, as if she didn't understand what had just happened. I later found out her name was Liz. She was in the same class as Yumishi.
Now, Yumishi's desk is covered with flowers—tokens of farewell from her classmates.
Two Months Later
Little by little, life returned to normal. The past was beginning to fade, replaced by new memories.
Then, one day, I saw a familiar figure near the lockers. At first, I didn't pay much attention since she was far away. But as we passed each other in the hallway, my eyes widened. My heart stopped.
It was her.
It was Yumishi.
Not only me—everyone who saw her froze in shock, whispering amongst themselves. She's back... She walked straight to her old classroom, as if nothing had happened.
Every lunchtime, every break, students avoided her. Fear followed her like a shadow. She always looked serious, almost angry. She never spoke.
I noticed Liz, too—shocked, frightened, just like everyone else. But there was something different. There was something between them. Yumishi—or whoever she was—kept looking at Liz.
Something about her had changed. Before, she looked like an angel. Now, her eyes were cold. Her movements felt... unnatural. She no longer seemed like the same girl.
Who was she?
The Mystery of Miyuze Mirai
Days passed, and rumors spread.
They said her name was Miyuze Mirai. Some believed she was Yumishi's sister, but they didn't even have the same last name. Others thought it was just a coincidence.
I couldn't ignore it anymore. I had to know the truth.
One day, in the cafeteria, I got my chance. She sat next to me. My heart pounded, but I told myself it was nothing—just a normal conversation.
Anami: "Your name is Miyuze, right?"
Miyuze: (Stops eating and looks up at me.)
Anami: (Her eyes... they give me chills.)
Miyuze: "Yeah, that's me. How do you know?"
