Hello! Aurora here! 🌙

AAAAHHHH! I'm just so happy! It really feels like I'm progressing in life! And funnily enough, as I'm writing this, it's actually my birthday—March 11—so happy birthday to me! 🎉 What makes it even more ironic is that Binary Code includes a song called Happy Birthday, which I'm currently listening to along with some classics: JEON SOMI's BIRTHDAY, NCT U's Make A Wish (Birthday Song), and a few other amazing tracks.

I drew a lot of inspiration for this story from a K-Class 1theK video featuring ONEUS as college students. That's actually where the idea for Jae's device came from! In the video, Seoho (portrayed as the "Weird Kid") tries to open an end portal with some kind of device, and there's even an interaction between him and Leedo, so it wasn't just Seoho being lonely.

The biggest influence, though, was ONEUS's b-side Connect With US from the Binary Code EP, which was just so BLACK MIRROR! The lyrics (We are stuck in the BLACK MIRROR, A World of 1's and 0's, Turn Your Phones Off) sparked the idea of the broadcast where they had to get people to turn off their phones to get rid of the I.P.U. Not that I used the idea, sadly, unless you wanna see it!

Speaking of the I.P.U.—it's actually a real thing! While first diving into ONEUS lore, I saw I.P.U. in the DEVIL EP and thought, Wait, what? So I looked it up and discovered that besides I Promise U, I.P.U. also stands for Infrastructure Processing Unit, which processes binary code. That just clicked—it fit perfectly with the idea of them being trapped in a world of 1s and 0s. Plus, in BLACK MIRROR, their reflections in the mirror aren't them, so I wove that concept into the story too. I also hid little song references throughout (like song titles!) to make everything feel more immersive.

The overall plot pulls from the TO BE OR NOT TO BE story films and the K-Class video—two completely different ONEUS sources that I pieced together in a way that made sense to me. Along the way, I noticed hidden connections in their music, like how the instrumental at the end of No Diggity is the same as the intro to BLACK MIRROR and how Outro: Connect With Us ties into the next album, Connect With US.

I really enjoyed making this for you all! Happy reading! 💙

(P.S. It was World Book Day, and I dressed up as Alice Cullen! Who were you?)
