The air was thick with an electric hum as the group stood in a circle of digital heliotropes, their vibrant colors shifting in and out of focus like an unstable hologram. The flowers, though unreal, seemed alive, their heads turning in unison toward the fractured remnants of Helios that lingered, like a shadow refusing to dissipate.
Eui stepped into the center of the ring, the device glowing faintly in her hands. Her form still flickered, but her movements were steady, purposeful. With care, she knelt and placed the device on the ground, its light casting long, rippling shadows across the glitching terrain.
Everyone gathered closer, forming a protective circle around her. Sunny, still clutching the prophecy's lingering weight, exchanged a glance with Seoho. He gave her a reassuring nod.
"Are we sure this will work?" Keonhee asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"It has to," Jae said, her voice resolute but tinged with an edge of fear. "Eui knows this place better than anyone. If she says this can rewrite the code, I believe her."
Eui straightened, her gaze sweeping over each of them. "This isn't just about rewriting the code," she said. "This is about breaking free. From Helios. From the Mirror. From everything that's tried to keep us trapped."
Leedo adjusted his stance, his wings shimmering faintly as if they were ready to unfurl. "Then let's do it."
The group stood in silence for a moment, the only sound the faint buzz of the heliotropes swaying in an unseen breeze. Then, one by one, they began to chant:
"We are already connected.
We know everything about each other.
The meaning of time and space has long since faded.
In the end, only 0's and 1's remain."
As their voices rose, the ground beneath them began to shift, glowing lines of binary code spreading out from the device like cracks in glass. The heliotropes around them flickered and twisted, their heads turning as though they were listening.
"We're on this Babylon.
The problem is BLACK MIRROR.
Between 1 and 0, connect us.
Please stop, Black Mirror."
The chant grew louder, the words reverberating through the air, carried by a power that felt ancient and unyielding. The binary code beneath their feet pulsed brighter and brighter, the entire realm trembling under the weight of their voices.
Eui knelt once more, her hands hovering over the device. "This is it," she murmured, her voice trembling. "This is the moment we rewrite everything."
She pressed her palms against the glowing surface of the device, and it responded immediately, a column of light shooting up into the sky. The heliotropes froze, their vibrant colors stabilizing into a brilliant gold as the light expanded, consuming the fractured mirrors and corrupted terrain.
From the light emerged the faint silhouette of Helios, his fragmented form shrinking and dimming. He reached out, his expression unreadable, before dissolving into the binary storm.
The chant reached its crescendo, their voices harmonizing as the light consumed everything around them. For a brief moment, the world was nothing but pure, radiant energy—a blank slate, waiting to be rewritten.
And then, silence.
When the light faded, the group found themselves standing in a new realm, one that was neither the corrupted I.P.U. nor the real world. It was a space of balance, where light and darkness coexisted in harmony. The heliotropes remained, their golden petals swaying gently.
Eui stood, her form no longer flickering. She turned to Jae, her expression a mix of relief and uncertainty. "It's done," she said softly. "The I.P.U is gone."
Jae rushed forward, wrapping her arms around her sister in a tight embrace. "You did it," she whispered, her voice breaking. "We did it."
Sunny looked at the others, a small smile breaking across her face. "We're free," she said, the weight of the prophecy finally lifting from her shoulders.
But as they stood there, taking in the new world they had created, a question lingered in the back of everyone's mind: What comes next?
For now, though, they allowed themselves a moment of peace. A new code had been written, and with it came the promise of a future unbound by the chains of the past.
