The next day, Janny was lying on her bed, mindlessly scrolling through Instagram with absolutely zero energy.

The excitement from last night had already worn off. Sure, he had followed her on Instagram, but what did that even mean? Probably nothing. He had tons of fangirls, after all. Maybe he just followed random people. Maybe this was just a coincidence.

She sighed.

And then—her phone rang.

An unknown number.

Janny's heart skipped a beat.

She never got random calls. She was a low-profile girl—she barely even gave her number to people she knew, let alone strangers. Who could this be? A scammer? A wrong number? Some creepy telemarketers?

Her mind was running wild when she suddenly remembered something.

Sarah.

She rushed to her cousin's room and held up her phone. "Sarah! I just got a call from an unknown number."

Sarah barely looked up. "So?"

Janny huffed. "So?! No one has my number. What if it's a scammer or something?"

Sarah smirked. "Or... maybe it's him."

Janny's brain short-circuited. "WHAT?!"

Sarah shrugged. "I mean, he followed you last night. Maybe he somehow got your number, too."

Janny's mouth opened, then closed. "No way. It couldn't be. That would be crazy."

But before she could process anything—

Her phone rang again.

Janny and Sarah exchanged glances.

"Pick it up," Sarah whispered, eyes wide with excitement.

Janny hesitated. Then, with a deep breath, she answered.

"...Hello?"

A brief silence. Then, a voice—smooth, confident, and unmistakably him.

"Is this Janny?"

Janny's stomach did an Olympic-level flip.

"Y-yeah," she stammered. "Who's this?"

A small chuckle on the other end. "I'm the guy from yesterday. The one from your cousin's school. I gave you a chair. Do you remember me?"

For a second, Janny flatlined.

She was half in a coma from the shock. Then, as if her soul had been forcefully shoved back into her body, she came back to life.

Casually (or at least she tried to be casual), she said, "Oh... yeah. I remember."

Then, trying to sound confident, she added, "How did you get my number? And my Instagram ID? I think you might be a good stalker or something."

Even as she said it, a thought crossed her mind—Why would he stalk a girl like me? She was ordinary. Nothing special. He could have any girl. So why...?

His reply made her eyes pop out.

"Yeah," he said smoothly. "I am stalking you."

Janny nearly dropped her phone.

"H-huh?!"

He laughed. "Relax, I just asked my friend to ask Sarah for your name and number. That's all."
