"I'm sorry for scarring you, I couldn't catch up right away, but I thought you knew it was me." Alex explained, moving a strand of hair that had fallen into Dorothy's eyes. She let out another sigh, this one out of relief, and made her way to where the equipment Dr. Meridian used was. She was looking for anything that could clue them in on how to get the machine up and running.
She took out her notes, passwords she had uncovered and used to get into all the different files Dr. Meridian had locked, for various reasons, and started looking again. There had to be a way to restart the machine, or at least a way to write the blueprints down so she could ask her genius child to rebuild it. She knew Nightshade could do it, with time they could do anything.
"What are you doing here, love?" Alex suddenly asked. "We got all of the victims from the chains, and I know you don't want to be here." Alex then stated.
Dorothy let out a sigh before she answered. "I am looking to see if there was any information left. I...I can't just leave her stranded here without at least trying to get her home." Dorothy felt the guilt start to overflow again. This poor girl, stripped from her home and thrown into a warzone. Forced to be thrust into a dimension as an experiment by a monster of a man. "I can't just give up." Dorothy whispered to her husband.
He looked down for a moment, as if he was in thought.
"I remember some of his most used passwords. Maybe I can find something you weren't able to. I wish you would have asked me for help Dottie." He took her hand in his own warm ones and held it. His promise to help was a lifeline Dorothy didn't know she needed. She sighed.
"I'm sorry, I didn't want to ask you, knowing you have history with the doctor. I didn't want it to be a sore subject." The apology was instantly accepted as Alex stepped closer to the computer, taking a breath as he rapid fired some codes into the open processor. The computer itself looked man-made but in a complex way. Not that it was made out of garbage, but almost as if it was made from parts of Dr. Meridian's slain victims. Dorothy saw Alex hesitate as the thought hit him as well.
"There's nothing we can do now." Dorothy muttered to her husband, placing a hand on his shoulder. He made a sound of acknowledgment and persisted through his disgust. It took only a few minutes. Ones that felt like hours, but finally Alex was able to break through the digital locks the mad doctor had put on all the documents containing the information Dorothy suspected was about the interdimensional portal.
The first one they opened held hours' worth of numbers and graphs. There were time conversions and blueprints that Dorothy recognized of the old portal used way back in the warehouse months ago. To save them time, Dorothy grabbed a USB Flash Drive that she brought, finding a port in the man-made computer and inserting it, making sure the downloading process would work. The next screen they found seemed to be a journal of sorts. it started a few months before Dorothy and Megatron had been captured by Dr. Meridian.
May 5th: The converters aren't working but I had a dream. A wickedly horrible dream, that was amazing at the same time. A world were those blasted aliens never found Earth. I'm going to find that world. Even if it kills me.
May 31st: I might have found out what I saw. It was a different dimension, fully independent of our own. If the Transformers can find out how to implement space bridges, maybe I can use that technology to figure out interdimensional travel!
June Log: I think I know what I need to do. I've heard rumors of a creature of fate that lurks in the air. I just need the right dream, and I'll have it.
July Log: I found it! I know what I need to do. I already have the parts; I just need a place. And since those new aliens made a mess of my old hideout, I have the best excuse to go hunting for a new one. Sad to think G.H.O.S.T already has their cuffs on the new bots however, it would have been great help to fly.
