Grace

It had been a week since the fight. He wasn't ever called into the office or scolded by anyone. At least not that I know of. He hasn't been any different. It was like it never happened. He wasn't rude but he just didn't speak to me much. We had to get our Home EC project done in 2 weeks. I was not going to get a F on my project because he didn't want to talk to me. 

I was in class and the bell rang for transitioning to lunch. I saw Elijah for the back of the class packing up to leave. I quickly shoved my notes into my bag and he walked past me. I zipped up my bag and hauled it over my shoulder before speed walking to catch up with him. damn he walked fast. Every step he took I had to take two. It was looking down at his phone and turned to take a right into the cafeteria. I slowed down and just walked into the cafeteria following closely behind him. He grabbed his lunch tray and food and I did the same. I stood in the cafeteria to see where he now was. I saw Kimberly and Miles waving me over to their table but I had to talk to Elijah. I saw him walk to a table that has only Luke at it. He took a seat and started talking to Luke. I walked over to the table and sat down the side Elijah.

"we need to talk" i said as i placed my tray in front of me. I turned to look at him and he looked annoyed like i was some fan following him around. 

" about?" he was pissed at me. But, why? I thought the moment of comfort we had last week at the game would've resolved our issues.  

" The project we have to do for home EC class. It's due in 2 weeks, I don't know what culture you were thinking or if you've even thought about this project but it needs to be done. And, just so you know I'm not doing this by myself." I informed him. I needed to make it clear that it was our assignment and that we had to go 50/50 on it. 

" fine, when do you want to do it?" He sighed giving in, as he looked at me in defeat. 

"well, i'm not too sure but i know that my mom is going to be remodeling our living room or something like that so my house isn't an option."  I think my mom said our house wasn't large enough or didn't have enough space even though it was just us 2 living in a 8 room 2 story house not including our basement that has 2 bedrooms so she's remodeling. 

"Okay. Meet me at my house after school. It's the weekend so i don't have my practices." He stated and i nodded. He looked at me before turning back to look at Luke and talking. I guess i'd just sit here for the rest of lunch. 

"Since the fight broke out last week the after game parties were postponed  till this weekend. Our team won the game against the team that we were going to play against. I will admit that it was harder to beat them because we didn't have our star player." Luke grinned at Elijah. So, I guess he did have consequences from the fight. That sucks that he had to miss that game. I know he was super ready for it.

"So, we going to them this weekend?" Eli asked as his brows furrowed.

"I mean I'm free if you are. But then, when are you and Grace going to do your project?" Luke looked at me and then back at Elijah.

"Well study at 12 and then go to the party." He answered.

"Are you going?" Luke nodded at me.

" Well-" I was interrupted by Elijah and I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

"No she's not." He said it as if he was demanding it.

"Says who??" I made a look of annoyance. As I side eyed him before turning my head to look at him.

"Says me. Aren't you busy like studying for the up coming exams?" He was so bossy. He acted as if he had any control over me. I was 17. I'll do as I please. I did have study groups to attend but just because he demanded that I wasn't going to go. I'll go out of spite. I nodded in response to his question. It didn't really sound like a question though.

"Then it's settled, she's not going. " Luke interfered.
"So since it's also for Halloween what should we wear?" Luke asked him in confusion.

"Um well It usually gets hot with all the people around so something that allows me to be shirtless." Elijah sat there and thought about what costume ideas he could do.

"A male stripper." I said inputting my suggestion. I looked at Elijah in the eyes then at Luke to see if I could find any type of answer or reaction to my suggestion.

"It's not horrible..." Luke grinned at Elijah in way that showed he was hoping that he'd be up for it.
Elijah took a deep breath and sighed before finally looking at me and then Luke.

"Fine, I guess it wouldn't be a bad costume..but I'm not wearing a like those tiny underwear. I'm wearing regular pants." he still kept a nonchalant attitude. I smiled at the fact that I was some what a bit of help.

I went home after school because we didn't have volleyball practice today. I needed to figure out what I was going ti wear to that party. I was only going out of spite but I still wanted to look good if not at least decent.

I scavenged through my closet. I honestly had no clue what I wanted to be. I went onto Pinterest and searched up cute Halloween costume ideas and I immediately saw 2 pretty girls, 1 dresses as a angel and the other a devil. That was what I was going to be. But, with who?

Cindy! I needed to see if she could skip her study group to come with me. I face times her and she answered instantly. I talked to her about it for about 15 minutes she was contemplating it for a long time before she finally gave in. She said that we would have to get ready for it at her house though. She wanted to be the devil and I the angel.
