Chapter 28

"H-hey Minji.." she drags out while smoothing out her hair and clothes. The corners of my lips slowly lifted into a smirk as I leaned my side against the wall,

"Hey Hanni. So you were hanging out with Dani huh?" I ask. She slowly walks up to me with a strained smile,

"Y-yeah she uh- needed some help with um.. stuff." She stutters out. I internally winced, seeing her lie terribly. I nonchalantly nod my head,

"Cool cool." I state. We remained silent until she lets out a long breath and giggles,

"Couldn't fool you huh?" She asks. I laugh and shake my head,

"Not even close." I tease. She rolls her eyes and crosses her arms with blushing cheeks,

"Shut up." She mutters out. I chuckle and smile excitedly towards her,

"So you and Dani are..." I drag out, waiting for her to finish my sentence in anticipation. She averts her eyes to the floor and bites her bottom lip to repress a smile but was failing to do so, causing me to suddenly squeal and clap my hands in excitement.

"No way!!" I squeal out. She chuckles and rolls her eyes,

"Stop acting like you're surprised." She playfully says. Grinning, I reply,

"Not surprised. More like relieved that Niniz is finally happening." I respond. She laughs and punches my arm playfully,

"Love the support buddy." She teases. She then looks at Haerin's door and furrows her eyebrows in confusion seeing how we were just causally standing in front.

"What're you doing in front of Haerin's door?" She asks. I let out a nervous chuckle while rubbing the back of my neck awkwardly,

"Well.. I—" I get cut off by Haerin peeking her head out the door, sending me a pointed look.

"What're you still doing out here? Get ready! Our date starts in two hours!" She exclaims before shutting the door and locking it right away. I wince and slowly turn my face towards Hanni who seemed to be stunned while staring at me with her mouth open in shock.

"No. Freaking. Way." She says with a slow smile being painted on her lips. I blush slightly,

"My thoughts exactly." I state. She goes to respond but Haerin swiftly opens the door again,

"Now Minji!" And closes her door again. I roll my eyes and chuckle,

"I would explain what is going but, one; I'm confused as well, two; I don't want to see a fuming cat and three; I have a date to get ready for." I respond.

And with that and ignoring Hanni’s calls, I swiftly turned around and sprinted off into my room with my heart trying to shoot through my chest.

I have a date with Haerin Kang?

After tucking in the front part of my off the shoulders, light shirt into my jeans, I took in a deep shaky breath while staring at my reflection. I grab my comb and began to brush my bangs while trying to ignore my racing heart. I place it back on my desk and sent myself a stern look,

"Stop being nervous. It's not like you're going on a date with the love of your life." I sarcastically whisper to myself. I dryly chuckle and place my hands over my face,

"What am I doing?" I whisper to myself. Externally, I looked as calm as Jerry when he eats his food, but internally? I'm screaming in horror. Just like Jerry when he has no food in his bowl.

I take in another deep breath before placing my trembling hands to my side and clenching and unclenching to relieve the tension. I close my eyes and took a long deep breath, trying to ease my racing heart and mind.

I was still in disbelief that I was asked out by Haerin. The brunette who stole my heart the moment she sent me her beautiful smile for the first time. The girl who motivated me for my every past and present. The girl who stood by my side through out my trainee days.

I'm going on a date with the woman I'm going to marry someday.

I was quickly disrupted by my day dreaming the moment a light knock was made from my door. I flinch in surprise and suddenly felt all my nerves consume me. I look back at my reflection and began to smoothen out my hair and clothes.

"Remember, you're Minji. Girl crush. You got this." I state. With one last affirmative nod, I swiftly turn around but squeal as I felt myself falling onto the floor. I groan and roll over to see the reason for my face plant and scowled towards Jerry who was staring at me innocently.

"Damn Dog." I whisper out.

"You okay?" I gasp and slowly scan the woman in front of me from head to toe with a blush creeping onto my cheeks.

From her thigh high boots that made her slender legs look longer, to her yellow, high waisted plaid skirt that hugged her hips nicely, to her yellow, long sleeved, flowy top.

She's an angel in disguise.

I slowly meet her gaze to see her blushing and smiling timidly towards me after noticing my lingering eyes. I awkwardly clear my throat and hastily stood up while smoothing out my clothes,

"Y-yeah. The demon tripped me." I chuckle out. She giggles softly before taking a step closer to me. She stares up at me,

"You look beautiful." She lightly says, causing my heart to melt at the sight of her shimmering piercing eyes and soft smile. I smile wide,

"You as well." I respond gently causing her smile her canine smile towards me. I chuckle and offer my arm,

"Shall we?" I ask. She smiles wide,

“We shall.”
