Jisoo’s heart warmed at the sound of his voice, the way he always made her feel cared for and cherished. Even when she was at her most demanding, he never once showed any sign of frustration.

Instead, he welcomed every moment with patience and understanding, always eager to help her through the challenges of pregnancy.

“You’re so good to me,” she murmured, her voice soft.

“I am only good because you’re amazing,” he replied, bending down to kiss her forehead. “You’re doing something incredible, Jisoo. You’re carrying our child. I am just lucky to be by your side.”

Jisoo’s eyes filled with tears at his words, and she reached out to take his hand. “I am lucky to have you too, Taehyung.”

Their quiet, intimate moments became the foundation of their days together. Despite the chaos outside their home, Taehyung’s battle with his uncle, the lingering threats from their past, and the heavy shadows that still loomed over them...they found peace in each other.

Every tender gesture, every quiet word, reinforced the unshakable bond they shared. Their love was a constant in a world that seemed to be constantly shifting, and it was a love that, no matter what, they would protect at all costs.

But as much as they tried to shield themselves from the looming storm, there was no escaping the reality that Kim Taehwan was still out there, a dangerous threat to everything they had fought for. Despite being out on bail, Taehwan’s presence in their lives was as oppressive as ever.

Jisoo and Taehyung both knew that it was only a matter of time before the final confrontation between them would come. And when it did, they would be ready.

For now, though, they focused on what mattered most...their child, their love, and the quiet moments they could still share. The world could wait for a little while longer, as they built their future together, step by step, hand in hand.

The second trimester of Jisoo's pregnancy had arrived in full swing, and with it, the time seemed to fly by. Each day, she found herself more and more aware of the changes happening to her body, the little life growing inside her.

She had settled into a new routine, one that involved regular check-ups, taking extra care of herself, and focusing on her health. It was a time of balance and growth, both for her and for the baby.

Taehyung had been working tirelessly at the office, his mind constantly juggling the demands of his company and his growing responsibilities as a husband and soon-to-be father.

He was as supportive as ever when he was home, but his work was taking up much of his time. Jisoo had grown used to the rhythm of their life...he would go to the office, and she would take care of herself, preparing for the baby’s arrival.

But today was different. As she went about her usual routine, Jisoo suddenly felt an odd dizziness, followed by a sharp, discomforting cramp. She stood still for a moment, trying to shake off the sensation, but the pain only intensified.

Her hand instinctively went to her stomach, and she felt the unease growing within her. It wasn’t something she had expected, and for a fleeting second, panic crept into her mind.

Just as she was about to call Taehyung, the doorbell rang, and Jungkook walked in, his familiar face offering her a comforting sense of relief.

“Jisoo, you okay?” he asked immediately, sensing something was off. His eyes scanned her for any signs of distress.

“I... I am not sure,” Jisoo confessed, a frown furrowing on her brow. “I’ve been feeling dizzy and crampy. I don’t think it’s anything major, but...”

Jungkook didn’t wait for her to finish. “Don’t even think about it. We’re going to the hospital. I’ll take care of you.”

Jisoo’s instincts told her it wasn’t a cause for concern, but Jungkook’s urgency left her no room to argue. He had always been like this...caring and protective. Despite her resistance, she found herself allowing him to take her to the hospital.

At the hospital, the doctors assured her that it was nothing serious, just some mild pregnancy side effects, nothing to be overly worried about. However, as soon as Taehyung found out, his world tilted on its axis.

He had been at the office when he received the call from Jungkook. The panic in her best friend’s voice was enough to send him racing out of his office, leaving behind everything.

The moment he reached the hospital, his face was pale, his eyes wild with concern. His heart pounded in his chest as he rushed to her side, as though he could somehow protect her from the world by being closer to her.

“Jisoo,” he breathed, his voice strained with fear, as he cupped her face in his hands. “You didn’t tell me you were feeling like this. What were you thinking, not calling me?”

Jisoo reached up to touch his face, the concern and love in her eyes replacing her initial discomfort. “Taehyung, it wasn’t serious. I am fine, I promise.”

But Taehyung wasn’t hearing any of it. His expression remained hard, though there was a vulnerability in his eyes that Jisoo had never seen before. “You’re pregnant. You’re carrying our child. You don’t get to decide what’s serious and what’s not. I can’t lose you. I won’t.”

Jisoo’s heart tightened at his words. She knew he loved her, but this was something else. It was as if he were seeing the fragility of their world for the first time. The fear, the protectiveness, it all poured out of him in that moment.

After hearing from the doctors that everything was okay, Jisoo thought the storm had passed. But the moment they left the hospital, Taehyung became even more protective than before, like a lion circling its prey. He refused to let Jisoo lift a finger, his eyes constantly scanning her for any sign of discomfort or unease.

"Jisoo, I don’t care how small it is. You’re not doing anything today. Not a single thing," Taehyung insisted, his voice low, authoritative. "I don’t want you taking any chances."

As the days passed, his overprotectiveness only intensified. If Jisoo so much as moved to stand, Taehyung was there, urging her to sit back down.

If she tried to do something as simple as carrying groceries or bending to pick something up, he was right there, taking the task from her hands with a worried frown. He had made it clear...nothing and no one was going to come between them, not even her stubbornness.

“I am fine, Taehyung. You’re overreacting,” she protested at one point, her voice half-exasperated, half-amused.

“I am not overreacting, Jisoo. I am doing what’s right,” he shot back, his tone unwavering. “I can’t lose you. Not now. Not after everything we’ve been through.”

His possessiveness, his protectiveness, his complete devotion to her and their unborn child became the defining characteristic of this new phase of their relationship.

To Jisoo, it was a mixture of overwhelming love and a constant reminder of how much Taehyung needed her, and how deeply his fear of losing her had taken root.

He began to hover over her more than ever. He would insist on walking her to every appointment, even when she felt fine. He would read to her at night, sometimes just to keep her calm, sometimes just to keep his mind occupied with something other than the overwhelming fear that something might go wrong.

As Jisoo leaned back against their shared pillow one evening, her hand resting over her belly, she watched him with a mixture of affection and amusement. “You know, I am still capable of doing things on my own,” she teased, her voice light.

Taehyung looked at her, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “Maybe. But right now, I am not taking any chances. Not with you. Not with our child.”

Jisoo smiled, feeling the weight of his love surround her. She knew, deep down, that while his overprotectiveness could be overwhelming at times, it was born out of a love so deep and fierce that it was impossible not to appreciate it.
