Jisoo’s intuition was rarely wrong, and today was no exception. Something about the air felt different, charged with an undercurrent she couldn’t quite place.

She glanced at Taehyung, who was focused on the road ahead. His expression was calm, but there was a glint of mischief in his eyes, one she had come to recognize over their year of marriage.

“Is everything okay?” she asked, her voice laced with suspicion.

Taehyung smirked but didn’t take his eyes off the road. “Why wouldn’t it be?”

“You’re being too quiet,” she said, narrowing her eyes at him. “And you’ve been smiling to yourself since we left. What are you up to, Taehyung?”

He chuckled, his deep voice filling the car. “You’ll find out soon enough, Jisoo. Just be patient.”

Her brow furrowed, but she didn’t press further. Something was definitely going on, and the way her husband seemed so at ease only added to her curiosity.

As they arrived at the elegant and modest estate of Taehyung’s mother, Jisoo’s unease grew. The warm smile on his mother’s face as she greeted them did little to soothe her nerves.

“Jisoo, my darling!” Mrs. Kim exclaimed, pulling her into a tight hug. “You look radiant as always.”

“Thank you, Mrs. Kim,” Jisoo replied with a polite smile.

“Mother,” Taehyung interjected with a soft laugh, “its mother for you too.”

Mrs. Kim beamed, her eyes sparkling with affection. “Of course, Jisoo do you understand. ”

Jisoo smile and nod her head in agreement.

Taehyung’s stepfather, Mr. Park, joined them with a firm handshake for Taehyung and a kind smile for Jisoo. “It’s good to see you both. You’ve been keeping busy, I hear.”

Taehyung nodded, his gaze flicking to Jisoo. “Busy, yes. But never too busy for family.”

As they settled into the cozy sitting room, Jisoo couldn’t help but notice the way Taehyung and his mother exchanged knowing looks. There was a secret between them, one that everyone seemed to be in on except her.

While Jisoo was momentarily distracted by the cute dog Rocky, Taehyung took the opportunity to gather his mother, stepfather, Roseanne, and Jungkook in the study, yeah Taehyung invited him personally.

“Thank you all for helping me with this,” Taehyung said, his tone serious yet excited. “This anniversary has to be perfect. Jisoo deserves nothing less.”

Mrs. Kim placed a reassuring hand on her son’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, Taehyung. We’ll make it unforgettable.”

Roseanne grinned, her eyes twinkling. “I have a few ideas for decorations and music. Jisoo loves elegant but simple designs.”

Jungkook, standing casually by the window, added, “I’ll make sure everything runs smoothly.”

Taehyung’s stepfather chimed in, “And I’ll take care of the logistics for the venue. Just say the word.”

Taehyung’s heart swelled with gratitude. These were the people he trusted most, the ones who knew how much Jisoo meant to him. “Let’s make this a celebration she’ll never forget.”

Back in the sitting room, Jisoo’s unease had shifted into full-blown suspicion. The glances, the hushed conversations...it was all too obvious that something was happening.

When Taehyung returned, she raised an eyebrow at him. “Are you going to tell me what’s going on, or do I have to interrogate everyone here?”

Taehyung chuckled, leaning down to press a kiss to her forehead. “Patience, my love. You’ll know soon enough.”
