16-year-old guy's POV

It was Christmas Eve again, and the 16-year-old guy found himself standing in front of the same tree as last year.

He had been here for almost an hour, his hands buried in his coat pockets to keep them warm.

He glanced down at the small box he was holding—a snow globe, just like the one he had given away last year. He didn't know why he brought it. Maybe he thought it would be funny to give the pretty guy another one or maybe... he just wanted an excuse to see him again.

But he wasn't here.

The teenager sighed, tilting his head up to look at the tree. "What am I even doing?"

A part of him felt silly. After all, he barely knew the boy—he didn't even know if the boy lived nearby or if he would even remember this spot. And yet he hopes to see that bright smile again.

He let out a frustrated chuckle, shaking his head. "Guess I was the only one who liked us being together for Christmas."
