"Thanks Brian I had a good time. I will call you baby." Leah said as she walked off and disappeared inside the lobby of the apartment building. She pressed the button on the elevator to the top floor and checked her face in the mirror and fixed her makeup. Once the elevator reached her floor, she pressed the lobby button and went right back down. Soon as the doors opened up she sauntered out of the elevator and peeked around the corner and out the window before she walked out of the lobby and walked briskly half a block up and then around the corner. She always got dropped off down the street from her home because she didn't need anybody knowing where she lived, she felt safer that way. Walking up to her apartment door she retrieved her keys letting herself in the front door.
As she walked in she shook her head as her boyfriend and his friends sat around the room playing 2K18, "Hey baby how is sis feeling?" He asked and she put her game face on, "She's still down but we had ordered in and then just had girl talk." She lied, Donovan stood up and stepped around the couch to greet his woman. "I missed you daddy." She said pecking him on the lips, he leaned in and inhaled rite under her jawline. As they embraced Donovan's god brother Justin stared at her lustfully. They had a past, drunk nights, drunk sex and a pregnancy scare when she and Donovan had first started dating, all things that only the two of them knew but that was years prior. Pulling back he stared at her for a second and Leah smiled, "What's up babe?" She asked, and he returned a half smile, "Nothing, let me finish this game and I'm going to kick these niggas out." She nodded her head and headed towards their bedroom.
Leah took a deep breath as she closed the door behind her, she had been with Brian since earlier in the day. Brian had text and told her that he was picking her up from work during lunch and to tell her boss that she had a family emergency. After getting permission to leave, she had called Donovan on her lunch and told him that after work she would be going to see about her younger sister who was distraught after her wedding being called off. Although that story was very true, Leah had known for a week about the break up and just hadn't divulged the information to Donovan. Luckily she hadn't because it was the perfect alibi.
Brian was somebody she had been dealing with for over a year and she liked him, not really for anything but the fact that he was fun and carefree. She couldn't really rely on him to do much but she did like hanging with him. When she needed reliability she called Lonn or Trent. Now, they knew how to take care of a woman, financing trips, car repairs, shopping sprees and bi-weekly pamper sessions she kept them around because she could rely on them to come through in the clutch. She didn't have feelings for any of them, well maybe Lonn because he had been around since she was a teenager and was still hanging on trying to get in wherever he could.
Leah sometimes felt bad for cheating on Donovan but she never did it to hurt him, she really just did it for the perks. Leah had never been faithful in a relationship and until she had a ring on her finger then she was going to live life how she saw fit, carefree and with no regrets. Yeah some people might have called her a hoe, a thot or whatever but she didn't care. She wasn't sleeping around like people would think but in the end even if she was it was her life and she could care less how she was viewed, anything she needed Donovan provided and anything she wanted one of her other beaus delivered. She was 25 years old, young and gorgeous so to hell with what anybody had to say as long as she didn't get caught she was good.
Emerging from the shower Leah lay across the bed in the nude and thought about the weekend she had ahead of her, in the morning she and Donovan would have breakfast with his parents before he went off to spend the rest of the day with his brother and friends and she would go and spend the day with her bestfriend as they rode up to Napa. Well at least that's the story she told him. It was Lonn's birthday weekend and he wanted time with her and to turn up in the City for the weekend. Although she wasn't really up to partying especially in such a public place she agreed to it. More so because Lonn had just paid for her 5-day Carribean cruise that she planned on going on with Donovan and their closest friends and siblings. Donovan wasn't the type to crowd her or call her much when she was out so it made it easy to just go and do her thing.
