The room went quiet as N loomed over Nori who was staring up at him in shock. It made N a bit worried that he had made the wrong move, but he didn't let his glare waver. He didn't know where this confidence came from, he just thought about a life without Uzi and that made his core hurt, not wanting that to be the outcome, so that was his only other option.

Nori began to rub the spot of where her chin should've been with her claw arm. "I can see why Uzi likes you."

N's tense shoulders loosened when he heard the softer tone in her voice. He sat back down in the chair and gave Nori an apologetic look. "S-sorry about that, all of that just came out of nowhere."

Nori shook her core as a 'no'. "I don't think so, that came from the heart. Do you really mean all you just said?"

"Yes." N didn't even hesitate. Then began to timidly play with his thumbs as he asked. "So...are we all good? M- me being with Uzi, I mean?"

Nori let out a small sigh. "I guess there's no reason to separate you two. Besides, I don't think I want Uzi with any of the cowards here in the colony anyways."

N perked up at that. "So you don't mind her being with a...y'know... disassembly drone?"

Nori hesitated on that question, making N's breath hitch, before she finally answered. "Not anymore, I guess. You have clearly proven that you wont go back to your old ways. I mean, that's the reason why I helped make the doors, to make sure my daughter grew up in a safe colony."

The disassembly drone nodded with understanding, staring down at his lap guiltily. He began to reflect on all the drones he had killed. Numerous mangled and oil covered faces of worker drones flashed through his mind, like his past was taunting him, gripping him in a choke hold.

The words 'fatal error', bright red, nearly blinded N's vision. He tried to close his eyes, but that only seemed to make it worse. Different articles of clothing and hair color flashed along side the bright words. He didn't take notice of them until he got a glimpse of short, purple hair.

N felt his core stop, and he slowly rewinded his memory like an old VHS tape, his breath catching into his throat. No...

Meanwhile, Nori was growing heavily concerned as she watched the disassembly drone tremble and grip his pilot outfit tightly. She began to feel a bit guilty as well. She had definitely hit something fragile in N, like an old lamp that was glued and taped together after numerous accidents with a baseball, nearly reaching its limit.

Before she could get a word in, N slowly lifted his head and locked gazes with her. His usual bright, warm optics, were hollow and cold with fear as he swallowed a lump in his throat, before asking.

"Nori...who killed you?"

Time froze for a moment as Nori matched with N's horrified expression. Before she shuffled nervously and cleared her throat. "I...I don't think that matters-"

"Yes, it does!" N's voice rose up to a pitch as bolted up from his seat and gripped the wooden table with such force it nearly cracked. His whole body was violently shaking and his tail looped around his leg like he expected it to protect him from the truth, he was so desperate for it but at the same time terrified.

Nori stared up at N with a bit of fear, especially since he was so much bigger then her, and seen something similar before. "N..." she didn't know what to say, struggling to decide if she should tell the truth.
