Summer

   I sigh as my mom drives through the town that we will now be calling home. She married some guy who lives here so of course she packed me and my little brother up and moved us across the country.

"I don't expect you to love it at first but I think it will grow on you" my mom says and I roll my eyes.

"The only good part is the surf" I shrug "they did deliver my car right?"

"Of course they did Ward said it hot here yesterday" she says and I nod.

"Good" I put my ear buds in as we pull up to this big fancy house.

"Welcome home guys" Ward says as we get out of the car.

   My little brother was asleep so I picked him up and he snuggles into me. I smile and carry him to my mom.

"He's still tired I'll put him in his room" I tell her and she nods.

"Rafe can show you where his room is and then show you yours" Ward says and I nod "he's inside in the kitchen"

"Rafe?" I say walking into the kitchen.

"Yeah?" He raises his eye brows at me "you must me Summer"

"And you just be Rafe" I smile and put my hand out carrying August with my other one.

"I can carry him if you want his room is upstairs" rafe says standing up.

"It's ok he's a light sleeper" I say and we walk upstairs.

"So I guess I'm your big brother now?" Rafe says opening the door.

"I guess so even though it's just 2 years. August is the real youngest he's only 4." I say and cover him up after I lay him down.

"My dad said he was young but not how young" he says and we walk out to the hall.

"Yeah he's still a baby in my eyes even though we have such a big age gap we are besties" I chuckle as we walk down the hall to my room.

"Your 17 right so a 13 year gap" he says and I nod "well at least yo where there to help your mom when everything happened with your dad." He says and I shrug.

"Not my dad August and I have different dads" I say and he raises his eye brows "my mom didn't tell yall?"

"No I assumed yall had the same dad" he says and I chuckle.

"No I was actually born here on this island" I smile and open my window "but when I was three my mom up and left taking only me."

"I had a brother my twin but she never talks about him." I sigh "I hope being here can bring us back together."

"Was your dad a kook?"

"Nope neither was my mom both pouges as my mom has said" I say laughing "so I guess technically that makes me a pouge?"

"Living at Tany hill you're not close to a pouge" he laughs and I shrug.

"Well I'm gonna go down to the beach I'll see you later rafe" I smile.

"There's a bonfire tonight you can go with me and meet some of my friends" he says "if you want at least."

"I'd like that" I smile.

"Great be ready at 6 and I'll drive us."

"Will do" I chuckle.

I look at the time and it's 4:30 so I decided to just get ready and wait for rafe. I go through my boxes that got delivered and find an outfit. I pull it on and sit at my vanity that Ward built me and do my hair and makeup. I take a picture and decide to post to instagram.
