9 | CAN'T CHOOSE

"Ah, here it is. Five passage. Let's stand on each one." Y/n said as she stood up and brushed her knees for any dirt before standing on one of the tiles.

"Let's go on three." Kurapika said. Not doubting Y/n as what Y/n did the other day was enough proof.

"One..." Killua started the counting.

"Two..." Leorio counted.

"THREE!!" They all said as they jumped into their own trapdoor.

Y/n, Gon, Killua, and Kurapika landed on the ground perfectly, except for Leorio. He landed face first. Y/n got concerned and ran to him.

"Are you okay?" She asked as she held out a hand to him.

"Yeah... Thanks." Leorio said as he grabbed her hand, and Y/n pulled him up before using her healing magic on him so that it could make the pain disappear.

Y/n smiled at him, and Leorio smiled back.

Soon, they walked to a table with five wrist watches on it. There was a note stuck into the wall, just above the table.

"The five of you must follow the majority rule to reach the goal." It read.

"And look! There's five stopwatches!" Gon pointed out and grabbed one.

"There's an X and O buttons..." Killua said as he got one as well.

They wore the watches and went to the door.

"If you want to open this door, choose O for yes and X for no."

Y/n read out loud, and they all voted for yes. The door opened, and they all went out.

Next, they ran into two ways the votes got split up, but they went to the right tunnel and continued to walk.

They kept on moving until they ended up on a path that led out into a deep hole in the ground. A little ledge from the path they we're on stuck out.

On the other side was one too. In the middle of the hole was a platform in the form of a square. It had four poles on the edges that illuminated the area. The candles on them were flickering with a small flame.

Y/n could see the prisoners on the other side.

Lippo, the examiner of the third phase, started to explain the rules for this. "The prisoners goal is to buy time which delays their prison time."

"You May pick your order. It's majority rules, so secure four wins, and you may pass." The first prisoner explains.

'Can't go first... I gotta take care of Kurapika's opponent, and besides, I don't want to go fight that man, I'd much rather take on leorio's opponent...'

Y/n thought to herself. "I shall g-," Kurapika said when Y/n interrupted him.

"Nope, you can't. You possibly can't." Y/n said. 'I'm the only who was the variable taht wasn't supposed to exist in the first place, so should I go?' Y/n thought to herself.

The fast beating of her heart didn't make anything better. "I-i-i'll go!" Y/n said.

Y/n said that got Kurapika to shut up. "But still -" Y/n once again cut him off. "Do not worry, I will come back without any wound!" She said. "No, you must forfeit this round. You're no match for that man."
