Lucy Chen, an officer for the LAPD, has been living with PTSD since she was abducted in 2019. She has been having panic attacks and nightmares since. Although they aren't as often as they were, she still receives them.
Tim Bradford, her boyfriend and a sergeant at the LAPD, is her rock. Her whole heart. Her everything. Lucy brings out a side of Tim that people at the station don't see. A much softer Side. He would do anything for her. Likewise she would do anything for him.
Lucy was on patrol one morning with Celina, when she received a call she dreaded to answer.
"Hello?" Lucy said to the person on the line
"Took you long enough to answer! Why haven't you been answering me?" The person on the line said to Lucy
"Mom you know I've been working and I've had a very busy couple of weeks but also quite traumatic so if you have nothing useful to say I'm hanging up! Bye!" Lucy ended the call before starting to get a bit teary, wiping her eyes and nose to make her look okay. She knew she needed someone. She needed Tim. So she secretly messaged him.

LUCYS POV
After messaging Tim, I felt better but still needed him. I asked Celina to pull over which she did as we waited for him. After what felt like years Tim finally arrived. I saw him run out of his shop, he ran over to us before asking Celina to wait in our shop whilst I talk to Tim. She agreed and walked back to our shop.
As soon as Celina turned around, Tim opened his arms and I melted into them. His right hand rested on the back of my head and his left arm wrapped around my waist. I felt at home.
TIMS POV
I knew Lucy needed me as soon as I wrapped my arms around her she fell into my grip. A couple of seconds after I started holding Lucy, I felt my metro shirt getting wet. After I realised this I rested my head on top of Lucy's and started to rub her back knowing she needed some comfort. She hadn't yet told me what was wrong but I knew it had something to do with her mother. We stood there for a couple of minutes whilst Lucy calmed down. She pulled her face out of my chest and looked at me in the eyes. Her water-filled eyes, tear stains down her face, her lip quivering. I knew she needed to go home.
I told Lucy to wait in my shop as I went over to Celina and told her we would meet her at the station. Celina started driving back as I got in the driver seat of my shop. I just sat down as Lucy gripped onto my hand. She held it all the way back to the station, every so often playing with my fingers, making our hands interlock.
Once we reached the station, I brought Lucy straight into Grey's office. As we walked in with Lucy still strapped to my arm, we were greeted by Grey, Nyla and Angela. Lucy didn't want them to see her crying so she just looked down and tightened her grip on my hand.
"Lucy needs to go home" I said sternly to the three of them "she had a panic attack on duty and clearly she needs me so can we take the rest of the day?"
Grey responded with "of course look after your girl"
With that we left the office, got changed and went to my car.
