Those would be the Blockchain itself, at least the Blockchain destinated for financial purposes. The system has these actors named miners, they have the computational power to validate the transactions of users and have a record of the cryptocurrencies owned by each one. Miners are one of the main components of the web. The best part about it is that the miners are paid in the same currency they validate, so the system is self sustainable, that's clever don't you think? And since all the miners in the web need to reach a consensus about the records in the Blockchain it is almost impossible to validate fraudulent information, that's why the system is so secure. If you want to change a little thing you would have to control at least 51% of the nodes, or computers, in the web, something so costly computationally that is considered ridiculous. Also, you have the investors and hodlers greed, is incredible how this emotion was turned into a gamechanger tool.

But how is this supposed to help us during the riots?

So the idea is to give them money in exchange for their services, and not only that but also the promise of a better world at the end of these three days, we have gathered founds through blockchains and we're ready to strike now
