Chapter 3
Valentine looked around the area so confused. "Where could he have gone so quickly?" He thought to himself.
As Valentine stands there staring down the road, his phone begins to ring. He looks at the caller ID...it was Anderson.
As Valentine was a little out of breath from running after the gold faced man, he answered the phone.
"Hello?"
"Valentine? What the hell is going on? Why do you sound out of breath now?"
"I will tell you when I get to the office."
As Anderson gets more and more confused, he says good-bye to Valentine on the phone.
As they hung up the phone, Valentine started walking back to the office. When Valentine got there, Anderson was just coming out the front door of the station.
As Anderson looks at Valentine, "Oh hey. I was just about to come find you."
"Why?"
"I thought you might need a ride home."
"Oh okay."
"Come on. My car is over here."
They started walking towards Anderson's car.
Valentine's jaw dropped as he saw a very nice, restored, navy blue Ford Mustang Stallion.
"There is no way this is yours. She is a beauty with chrome rims, 320 horsepower, 4 speed manual transmission, and a 390 cu engine. There were only four of these with the 390 engine produced." Valentine looked at Anderson with envy.
Anderson laughed, "yes. It's mine. I paid good money for it too. I had to restore it after it sat in my father's garage. He passed it down to me after he passed away."
After they got in the car, Anderson looked at Valentine with utter confusion, "So what happened back there?"
"When I left to go to my brother's lawyer, Jeff, there was somebody in front of me and he looked like he was hiding something so I called out to him."
"And?"
"He started running, so I ran after him. But I lost him after he turned a corner."
"And what about just now?"
"I saw him again, but this time he stopped when I drew my gun out. When he turned around, he had a golden mask on."
"Wow. He's a long way from Halloween."
"Yeah. But then I turned for one second and he was gone."
"Do you think it was the murderer from this case we're working on?"
"I don't know. But I'm going to find out."
"Let's go."
Chapter 4
