I hated him so much. He irritated me and pissed me off. I thought at once he was cool, but I was wrong. He had done so many things in his life that I just hated. I lost total respect for him. He was the worst boy in school. Everyone loved him, even though they knew the bad things he had done. I guess they were just attached to him, as much as I am detached. I never want him to look my way, nor would I want to look his way. We were total opposites, and I hated him.

            “Hello? Earth to Lauren?”

“Wha – what?” I snapped out of my daze. My best friend Viktoria and I were walking down the school hallways together, books in hand. We rounded a corner to reach our next class, which happened to be at the other end of the longest hallway in school. It was the hallway that legit everybody happened to be in. It was the last class of the day, and unfortunately, that was the busiest time for the hallway.

Jocks were throwing footballs back and forth to each other, nerds kept their heads down and planted in their books – I’m surprised they never get hit. Then, you got your usual tramps and skanks who wear crop tops too elevated over their belly-button and mini-skirts that barley or never covers their butts. The emos wear ridiculous amounts of make-up while punks skateboard in the school hallways and are their primary mode of transportation. There were more stereotypes to name, but that would take forever to list.

“It’s your favourite person in the whole world!” Viktoria pointed out. I followed her gaze to where she was looking. There was a bunch of popular girls hovering around what looked to be a tall guy. I didn’t see who it was at first, but when one of the girls got shoved out of the “admiration” circle, I recognized his face instantly.

            Hunter.

            God I hated him.

“Calm down, calm down,” Viktoria said, “he’s just standing there, with a bunch of tramps.” I guess she could have felt me tense up when I saw his face.

His stupid, pathetic and unfortunately gorgeous face.

Yes, as much as I hated to admit it, he was the best-looking guy in school. But that didn’t change the fact that I hated his guts more than anything. He was disgusting, a nuisance to the human race. Yes, I went that far. But it was far too true. I don’t understand how that guy still has friends? It’s completely ridiculous.

“I’m perfectly calm, just, let’s go. I can’t look at him.” We started to walk forward a bit, and we eventually became beside Hunter’s “lover” circle. Ugh, gross. He was trying to get his books out of his locker, but was failing miserably as some girls were trying to swoon over him. Again, gross.

We were halfway out of earshot when I heard someone call my name.

“Hey Lo!” I turned around, and sure enough there was Hunter hollering my name for everyone to hear. Every single person crowding the hallway looked at me. I couldn’t push him, because his girlfriend, Erica, was right there. And we all know how that fight would turn out. There did happen to be teachers around, knowing that this hallway get’s crazy like a zoo. But I didn’t care. What where they going to do about it?

So I stuck out my middle finger proudly at his face. There was a low “Ohhh!” breezing through the crowds. Hunter smirked, the one that every girl loved. He shook his head and closed his locker, and walked away hand in hand with Erica. Thank God she didn’t see what had happened, she was too busy texting someone on her phone. You could see his idiotic faux-hawk dirty-blond hair in the crowd. His broad shoulders and height stood out of the crowd. I bet he used that to his advantage lately, considering the amount of girls he did, I thought.

“You are my hero," Viktoria said, smiling.

“I know.” I replied and smiled back. We both walked away to go to class, awaiting the final bell to ring and end the eventful day.
