A Wonderful Holiday (Short story)

Snow falling, blankets of snow, hot coco.. the coziness of a crackling fireplace while the cold wind swayed outside the icy windows. Bikini Bottom, in winter.

(SpongeBobs POV)

I woke up, seeing the snowfall outside. My heart skipping a beat, I got excited, it was snowing! Checking the clock, I saw I was late for work.

"Shit!"

I quickly rushed upstairs, grabbing my clothes and wrapping a comfortable scarf around my neck to keep my nose and me warm. As I rushed down the stairs again, going to the front door, I saw Patrick in a picture frame. He would love this, he always loved when it snowed. No time to dwell, I quickly put on layered socks, I gripped my shoes, bending down and tying them before quickly swinging open the door and getting hit with a wave of cold. I felt my teeth chatter, my arms in instinct going to wrap around myself quickly.

"Gary, I'll be back. I have to go to work, keep yourself warm!!" I called out, Gary replying with his..

"Meow."

Shutting the door, I looked around as I planted my feet in the snow. It was pretty deep, but not so deep I couldn't walk. Picking up one foot at a time, I made my way to my car. I arrived at the Krusty Krab, seeing Squid-Ward in the window working the cashier. I looked at him, his eyes meeting mine before I glanced away. Opening the doors, I swiftly made my way inside, relieved as I was met with the warmness. Mr. Krabs stormed out of his office, looking over at Squid-Ward.

"Is SpongeBob here ye-" he cut himself off as he saw me.

"I'm here, sorry it was a long walk. The snow outside is really thick!" I commented, glancing out the window before looking back at him.

"Don't worry my boy! We just need you here. It's gonna be busy today!" He gave me a pat on the shoulder.

I nodded.

"Get back there, start cooking those patties." He was awfully joyful.

"You got it, I'm ready!" I said as I made my way back into my cooking station.

I still had a lingering thought of Patrick, I always did, I missed him a lot. Gripping my spatula, I set some patties on the hot stove, the sizzle and pop loud. I looked up, seeing Squid-Ward, feeling butterflies as he served customers before I began to sing a toon.

(SpongeBob) "I.. don't want a lot for Christmas.. there is just one thing I need. I don't care about the presents, underneath the Christmas tree.. I just want you for my own. More than you could ever know.. make my wish come true! All I want.. for Christmas.. is you!"

(Sandy in her house) "I don't want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing I need."

(Chorus - Mr. Krabs and Squid-Ward) "And I!" 

(Sandy in her house) "Don't care about the presents.."

(Mr. Krabs) "Underneath the Christmas tree! I don't need to hang my stocking.. there upon the fireplace!"
