Backstory: (its kind of complicated but it makes sense to me)
When Lucy was 5 she was experiencing constant bloating and was feeling really sick, which later led to her finding out she was pregnant, she had a virgin birth. A few weeks before Lucy turned six, she gave birth to beautiful twins named May and Noah, a girl and boy. Her parents were occasionally abusive towards her so she decided that it would be best if her kids didn't have to grow up with that. Their family friends, Athena and Bobby were having fertility issues and were unable to have kids and when Lucy and her parents proposed the idea that they could have the twins they gladly accepted.
Athena and Bobby also got to decide the two kids' middle names and chose 'May Lucy Grant' and 'Noah Jai Grant'.
Both of the kids had heterochromia, just like Lucy. May chose to embrace it, but Noah would wear a blue contact over his brown eye (left eye), and Lucy a brown contact over her blue eye (right eye). It was funny when sometimes they decided to swap up their eye colours to mess with people. All three of them also has diabetes that no one except the 118 and close friends know about.
After years of abuse in Lucy's household she decided that she would run away, coincidently it was the twins 8 birthday, so she just told her parents she was going to visit her kids but in reality she was going to not come home.
After some negotiations with her parents, she ended up getting adopted by Athena and Bobby, meaning she got to grow up with her kids, and have a healthy relationship unlike what she had with her parents. The three already went to the same school as they lived close together.
She got especially close with May; they treated each other like best friends and always gossiped about boys together.
May was really gifted on the academic and average at all sports, Noah on the other hand was gifted physically with a muscly build, tan, tall, and really good at football and hockey. Lucy was incredibly lucky as she was gifted in both genres, she was a straight 'A' student whilst also being incredible at hockey and track.
Lucy knew that she wanted to be cop just like Athena who she saw as her mum. Noah knew he wanted to be a firefighter just like Bobby. May on the other hand wasn't 100% sure on what she wanted to do but she was thinking of going to college.
In junior year she met a lovely man named Eddie Diaz and they fell in love, got married and had a kid named Christopher (and Amelie 🕊🕊🕊). When Lucy was 26, she joined the police academy and later became a cop.
The twins found out about Lucy being their birth mother but still treat each other like siblings.
Eddie found out about Lucy being May and Noah's mum around 3 years into their relationship and was understanding and supportive.
Lucy is really close with everyone from the 118 and often visits the fire house.
Athena and Lucy decided to act like they didn't know one another if they ever crossed paths in a work environment.
