It was a nice morning in a suburban neighborhood; kids are playing, birds are singing, adults are going for a walk. It was a peaceful and serene place to live in.
When a group of kids are playing baseball, one little boy misses the throw. The little boy chases the ball that is across road, but he didn't look both ways when a car hits him.
Eddie Brock sits up from his bed, he looks around his room as he was starting to calm down. He places his hand on his left eye to fell that his scar is still there.
Eddie: Shit...
He mutters under his breath as he gets up from for his usual bench pressing routine before going to work at his temporary job.
He doesn't know how long he'll be suspended from the Daily Bugle, it has been a month since the incident. He is still angry at Spider-Man and Peter Parker, they caused this to happen.
He stops his workout early to look at the wall full of newspaper clips of Spider-Man, most of them have darts thrown at them.
Eddie works hard at the gym by assisting clients with exercise. Working there is better than not having money at all and living on the streets. It can be a weird job sometimes with dealing with narcissists and meat heads, but it's his job so it doesn't matter.
When it was late he leaves to the parking to return to his car, but while doing that he meets an old friend.
The young man is around Eddie's age; he almost the same built as him but not as much; his hair is dark brown, his eyes are the same color.
Eddie: Hey Peirce.
Landon: Brock! You son of a bitch!
After they shake hands they hand out and smoke on his truck.
Landon: So how's your... you know. Did you get your job back?
Eddie: They delayed me from coming back again.
Landon: Damn... really?
Eddie: Yeah... how am I supposed to protect the city if I'm not a journalist.
Landon: You'll figure this out, Eddie. We're both still young after all.
Eddie: My Dad still thinks I'm a failure.
Landon: Hey! Fuck that guy! He doesn't even deserve to be in your life! He fucking sucks and you know it!
Eddie: Yeah... but he is all I have, even after...
Landon: I know... and it's not your fault.
Eddie didn't reply as he remembers the horrible childhood his father has given him.
Landon: Hey... how about this?
Landon tries to brighten up the mood, with a offer.
Landon: How about we do something fun and mischievous to get the trouble off your mind.
Eddie: Like what?
In an ally way. A man was brutality beating a criminal to death, and asking questions. It looks like a interrogation gone wrong.
"You're a monster!! A monster!"
"Shut the fuck up and give me my Fucking Answers!!"
Then there was no answer after the beating, the man stares at the criminal that is now bleeding out.
"Gargan!"
A police officer was standing there, his face was in horror at what he just witnessed.
"Gargan... what have you done?"
Mac Gargan steps away while looking at himself, he was covered in blood.
At the police station, George Stacy was looking at Mac Gargan in disappointment.
Gargan: He was beating her over and over again! I can't let that happen!
George: That is your job Detective Gargan, to get the evidence and not act like Jury and Executioner.
Gargan: I couldn't let it happen anymore Captain Stacy!
George just looks at him in disappointment, he has lost another Detective, but at least none of them are violent like Gargan.
George: Leave your gun and badge, Gargan. Your Fired.
Gargan: Captain! I have a wife, we're expecting soon. We live in a terrible part of the city, you can't!
George: I'm sorry... you killed a man with your bare hands. I can't have a violent man against the law.
We cut to Oscorp. Norman was admiring the new symbiotes he has collected when they crashed onto earth. His head turns when he saw one of his employees, the Shocker.
Shocker: Oh Boss. Look what I have returned with.
The Shocker holds a container with the Black Symbiote inside.
Norman: Ah... Finally.
Norman looks at the symbiote with malice, the symbiote looks like it is shivering in fear. It knows that he is going to torture him again.
Norman: You think you can just escape from me and crawl for Spider-Man for protection. You have another thing coming Pet.
He says maliciously, hiding his anger.
Norman: Now... how about your severe punishment?
