My Inheritance

chapter 18

I made my way to the library, keeping my eye on the map as I went. I didn't want to run into anyone that might slow me down. Once I reached the library I went searching for the books I needed. I Didn't anything in particular but since I was still behind on work I wanted to get ahead so I didn't have to worry about grades or information while my plans were in action. I wanted to be prepared, I needed to know as much as i could, and since there wasn't a limit on how many books you were able to check out at the same time, i decided to get everything right now so i had everything i needed without having to go find it again in this library.

After gathering half the books I needed, I heard voices coming from behind one of the book shelfs. I stopped in my tracks and listened to the conversation.

"I don't understand, how could he just vanish? Dumbledore said he was keeping a close eye on him."

"I don't know ron!" the girl sighed "he could be anywhere right now, the dark lord might even have him"

"This is silly, why should we keep up the act about missing him and being all worried"

"We need to ron!Merlin can't you see that this doesn't help with all the plans. Our money has stopped coming in. that means he is dead or he found out about the transactions"

Ron sighed "what do we do now?"

"We listen to dumbledore, he said that if he can't find harry soon, he will have to go to plan B"

"And what's plan B?"

"Neville longbottom. He is plan B"

"Why him?"

"The prophecy doesn't specify Harry nor does it specify neville. It could be any of them. If harry doesn't show up soon neville will become the new 'boy who lived' and defeat the dark lord"

After hearing that, Hadrian knew what he had to do. He had to find Neville and tell him what they were planning. He couldn't let this happen on his watch. He quickly grabbed the rest of the books he needed and headed out of the library.

Once he reached the Slytherin dorm he went to his room and dropped the books off. Once finished I pulled the map back out and started looking all over for nevilles name to pop up. After some time his name finally appeared, he was down near the forbidden forest.

'I should've known he'll be there' I thought to myself before quickly making my way down.

Once I reached Neville I noticed he was with someone, someone that didn't show up on the map. I got closer and noticed it was a creature of the forbidden forest. They were both talking to each other, I got closer and stopped a few steps away.

"Nev!" i yelled out, "we need to talk"

Neville turned around and had a shocked expression on his face, he quickly finished his conversation and made his was over to me

"What's up? Everything okay?" neville asked softly

"There's something you need to know"

"What is it? You normally call a meeting" he asked confused

"Yes, but this couldn't wait. I had to get to you before they did"

"Who's 'they'"

"Ron, Dumbledore, hermione. One of them, you need to listen. They are having trouble finding Harry potter, and if they don't find a lead or harry soon they are going to try and turn you into the new boy who lived."

"What do you mean? Why me?"

"I heard them talking in the library, they said the prophet wasn't a set person. It could be anyone. They picked me first since I was easier to get to and control. They don't like that Harry potter disappeared. They still need someone to play the weapon in their plan. They are having more and more trouble with harry so they are going to move onto you soon and fill you up with lies and potions so you go along with them"

"Okay okay slow down. When will they try?"

"I'm not sure, just stay away from them. Don't become the new boy who lived. If you do it'll only cause more damage than good. They need someone for their plan, their plan is currently failing since Harry disappeared."

"Don't worry, I won't follow their lead. I don't want anything to do with it. If they actually have trouble they should be able to find someone else to cover for them and defeat the dark lord."

"I need you to make sure not to follow their lead and fall into their traps. Never be alone with Dumbledore or anyone that isn't on our side. Dumbledore has an issue where he will put potions in anything, once you eat or drink it that's it. I don't want anything to happen to you nev."

Neville smiled at me "nothing will happen, i'll start wearing my potion blocker again" he placed a hand on my shoulder "trust me, if they try to place potions on me or try to use any kind of spell my blocker will pick it up."

I sighed in relief. "Okay, good."

"Now, stop stressing so much. I'll let the others know of their plan. I think Fred and George are planning on pulling a prank on Ron and Hermione soon. This will help them get ideas on what to do, once they have an actual cause they can't be stopped."

I chuckled at his response "of course they are. And thank you Neville for telling the others, I have some reading I need to catch up on."

"No problem at all hades, you go do what you need to do. I'll go warn the others"

And with that Neville started walking towards the castle. I headed in soon after, going right down into my room and started on the reading i had.
