A drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most
'Cause you are my heaven

Elijah Mikaelson was excited. It wasn't something that the usually composed Original would describe himself as and yet here he was. A year away from his little girl was too long for him, a day away was one too many in his opinion. Now he only had another five minutes before he would finally be reunited with his daughter and son, he just wished that time would hurry up for once.

Usually it flew by seeing as he was immortal. It seemed to slow down now.

Time was tricky like that, Elijah mused. It never seemed to behave when you wanted it to. The moments would drag out when you wanted them to speed up and speed up when you wanted to remain in them forever. And forever was a very long time for someone like him.

He was ruminating on these thoughts, standing between platforms nine and ten at Kings Cross in London when a flash of white overtook his vision. Elijah's senses were on overdrive, he'd been so careful. He'd hidden, moved countries again last decade and made sure his transactions were untraceable.

He'd been careful so who had found him now and dared to take him from his family? Elijah raged, his eyes glaring at the figures appearing before him. He unbuttoned the top two buttons of his crisp white shirt and loosened his tie, it wouldn't do to let his fight ruin the look of his suit without his permission.

"Maddox you had better be calling to tell me you have finally made some progress else you'll find another one of your coven member's hearts littering your hotel floor." Niklaus Mikaelson angrily shouted down the phone as he pulled open another coffin.

"Mr Mikaelson, I was just calling to-" Maddox began down the phone but Klaus had no time for petty explanations. He was Niklaus Mikaelson, his reputation didn't say that he listened to whatever measly excuse his minion told him for why they had once again failed.

"Maddox there better not be another stupid excuse after that sentence" Klaus growled, checking that the dagger was still secure in his younger brother's chest, "I am not known for my patience and you have been testing it for far longer than I am pleased"

"Yes, of course, Mr Mikaelson it's just that-"

"I am hearing excuses Maddox! So which witch would you prefer it to be this week? I have a lovely Sapphire or would you rather a warlock? Maybe... Darren?"

"No Mr Mikaelson, please, I'm sorry but-"

"Ah so it would appear to be Darren this week... such a shame I hear that the warlock population is slowly deteriorating at this time" Klaus tutted down the phone, smirking as he checked over Rebekah's dagger before shutting the coffin once more. "Could you do me a favour Maddox? Tell me is that true?"

"Yes Mr Mikaelson but about Elijah it's just that he's-"

"I'll finish that sentence for you Maddox. It's just that he's not standing in front of me right now or in my house or in a five mile radius of me. Is that not what I asked you to fix for me? Was a little locator spell too much to ask from you Maddox? Are you normally this incompetent or is it just me?"

"No Mr Mikaelson it's not you but if he's shielded I can't-"

"So you do admit failure. I am so glad that we got to the bottom of this little issue Maddox. Maybe the death of your good old coven mate Darren will help fix this-"
