It's been a few months since I last settled to Liyue. The area is so pretty and magical when the lantern rite is upcoming. Unfortunately, Rex lapis had been murdered and I can't seem to figure out where to go next. I begin to wander around with Paimon to see if we could get information about this festival.
I entered a beautiful little shop with a pretty young lady. I began to walk in her direction and tapped her shoulder
"Excuse me Ma'am?" I say in a soft tone to make sure she isn't startled.
"Oh my! Isn't it the famous traveler and their floating companion!" She says excitedly. I get that I'm pretty popular and stuff but getting the same kind of compliment is a little annoying. I nod and look down at her.
"Hiya! This is the traveler and Paimon is Paimon! We was wondering what Lantern rite is all about because it's very beautiful here." Paimon smiles and look around at her shop. Her tiny little soap shop is wonderful. It's decorated with wall paintings and lanterns.
"Right! The lantern rite is all about celebrating the up coming new year. We use Xiao lanterns to write our wishes and release them to the sky. Say, people bring other people to the festival, do you have someone to go with you?" She tilts her head curiously. I knew it. Am I supposed to have someone? Well I have Paimon so I guess I'll nod.
"Wonderful! You're a pretty little lad so anyone would be lucky to have you. Will you be needing anything else? If not, have a great day!" Paimon shakes her head and we both wave.
"Bye pretty lady!" Paimon shouts before was walk off. Paimon stays floating with me as we head to Wangshu Inn.

There was an adeptus there. I never really met him or knew where he could be located. After showering and changing, I head to the balcony to get some fresh air. I hear a sudden raspy voice and jolt from my spot, turning my head almost immediately towards the sound.
"To the blind, everything may not be as it appears." The man said. He was a young guy, emo but young. His glare was unwavering which threw me off guard. He's... Interesting I must say. "Who are you?" He asks, walking towards me to make sure I'm not a threat.
"Aether." I say, stepping back and away from him. I'm not sure but why so I feel so weird around him?

He's backing up, weird. He doesn't seem to be horrified about me like most people would be, but he's looking away. I stop in my tracks and cross my arms, trying to let him know who has the upper hand in this situation.
"Why are you here? What's your purpose hmm? You don't look like you are from around here" I ask again. Aether is a lovely name. Wait, why am I thinking about his name if I already changed the topic? This is just ridiculous.
"Um... I am here to find my twin sister.. I mean no harm.. who are you?.." he asked, fidgeting with his gloves. I stay silent for a while, studying his body language. Hah, nervous I see. His golden hair sways in the wind with his braid acting like it's very windy. I look away, having no interest in him anymore.
"Xiao. Adeptus Xiao. We will not be needing to go into details about me." I say sternly, turning my gaze back to him. He still is looking away nervously with light pink cheeks. I let out a silent huff of air suddenly and turn around, my back facing towards him.
"If you want no trouble, stay away from me." I say, my head tilted slightly to the right before teleporting away.

Poof! He's gone in a black and teal flash with smoke left behind. I let out a sigh of relief before making the most amazing, most wise, most thoughtful decision ever, leaving the balcony to stay away from that emo guy. As I'm heading out, I mumbled his name softly. I'm trying to get used to that name because why on Teyvat is Liyue's names so difficult to pronounce. X is sometimes a q and q is like a k. This is just hurting my brain.
I entered my room with Paimon still asleep on the other bed. I take out my hair tie and let my hair fall. I flip up my blanket, get into my bed, and lay down before drifting off into the land of dreams.

Okay! It's up to me to make a new friend! Verr Goldet said he likes almond tofu and if I try to get him to know me, maybe he'll soften up! I told the girl I said I have someone to go to the lantern rite and he's my only choice. I hurry up to the balcony in search of Xiao while Paimon holds the almond tofu. I sit down by the edge of the balcony and calls out to him.
"Xiao? Are you there?" I say, looking around. In a sudden flash of teal and black smoke, Xiao was there. I jump slightly and Paimon squeals in shock. I stand up and walk up to him with a serious expression as he talks.
"You called?" He says calmly as he moves closer to me. I grab the almond tofu out of paimon's hand and hold it up to him despite him being three inches shorter than me, I'm still shocked about it. I nod and clear my throat. I can see Xiao's eyes brighten immediately to the tofu
"Yes. Um I made you some almond tofu so um... you can eat it as I talk." I hand him the food and watches him eat it. 'He's... predictable.' I think to myself.
"So um I know we met but I kinda need a favor." I say, fidgeting with my fingers and looked away
"What's the favor?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow as he eats
A: "So basically Lantern rite is coming up and I know we met so I was wondering if you like to come to the Lantern rite with me? I mean you don't have to force your way into it but it's just that I told a woman I would come to the lantern rite with someone and um.. it's kinda awkward if I see her and have no one to go with.."
"So you're asking me to go to a crowded place and fulfill a promise that you made to someone that isn't my fault?" He says, his mouth slightly muffled from the food. Does he not have any manners?
